There is a growing resistance to the highly debated body scanners that the right and left actually seem to agree seem to agree on. And they said it could never happen!
The TSA is being judged by the public court of opinion over the body scanners and pat downs especially after the “don’t touch my junk” guy, John Tyner, made headlines.
For me, I think the scanners and pat downs are imperative at this point. As the anchor person on CNN said, “remember the underwear bomber?” The underwear bomber also became a political debate with the right saying ‘President Obama isn’t keeping us safe.’
So, what’s the President to do if we delay the use of scanners or throw out the idea all together and we don’t want pat downs from some creepy TSA worker as well? Backup is needed in keeping us safe at the airport before we disregard the scanners and the pat downs.

Scientists at John Hopkins University show a realistic concern over them, however minimal it may be, so is our alternative to be blown to bits? Homeland Security which overseas the TSA, has not terminated the scanners as of yet.
Websites and newspapers are demonizing the screening methods by calling them, perverted, but isn’t it more of a perversion of justice to allow terrorists to blow us out of the sky? A recent boycott is in effect:
Grassroots airline boycott effort We Won’t Fly is organizing mass x-ray scanner opt outs at airports around the nation for National Opt Out of the Airport Scanners Day, November 24 in order to highlight the health and privacy dangers of the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) backscatter x-ray airport scanners.
If you have to fly on November 24, opt out of the porno-scanners for your own health and privacy. Say “I opt out!” Tell your friends, family and community so they know how to protect themselves, too. Be prepared for delays and intimate TSA groping. But at least your skin and eyes will be safe.
Their passion is to be commended however, in my opinion, it’s misplaced. Our major concern should be in arriving at our destination in one piece and not a thousand. But, that’s just me.
Join We Won’t Fly, in their boycott here.
Since the left and the right are finally in agreement (except for me), then perhaps we can unite in other issues. I have a list:
1) Let tax cuts for the wealthy expire, just as they were supposed to.
2) Let’s get that public option going after all!
I’m pushing it, aren’t I? I’ll stop now.
