Michael Steele Joining Ranks With MSNBC

After talks with CNN and Fox News, the former head of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele, has just teamed up with MSNBC instead, as a political analyst — effective immediately.

Steele, a frequent guest on MSNBC, will appear regularly as part of the network’s analysts and contributors, according to a network news release.

The former RNC head, lost popularity with Conservatives, most of which make up Fox’s audience. Instead of venturing into Republican campaign headquarters, Fox News, he’s going the ‘Lean forward’ route.

In a statement, Steele said:

It’s an honor to contribute and engage in the dialogue on MSNBC…I look forward to engaging a diverse audience to share insights and analysis about the people, issues, and events shaping America’s future. I’m sure our discussions will be both informative and a bit spirited!”

Spirited indeed. Let’s take a look at some of Steele’s qualifications.

“The problem that we have with this president is we don’t know him. He was not vetted, folks… He was not vetted, because the press fell in love with the black man running for the office.”

– Steele, forgetting President Obama actually won a national election.

My favorite:

Could you help a brother out? No more national conventions with 36 people of color in the room.”

– Steele, urging Florida Republicans to send delegates to the Republican National Convention who “look like Florida.”

Keith Olbermann leaves, Michael Steele joins the team — just another day in Bizarro World. Maybe Harold Camping was correct.

posts like yours below don’t give me any hope that Americans are “getting” anything. I ask you very basic and straightforward questions and you can’t answer them. Just because a lot of people watch something is not proof that it’s good quality or that those people are compelling judges of good quality. Slow down and READ instead of just parroting back some garbage. Thanks.

I guess I don’t understand why you’re trying to convince people you actually believe that if something is highly rated, that necessarily means its quality is good or that those who watch it are necessarily capable of judging good quality. Why would you *want* people to think you lack critical thinking skills?

I find in funny how as Head of the RNC he refused to appear on any MSNBC show like Mathews, Maddow, Shultz. He even refused Real Time.
Now that he is free and getting paid. Those shows aren’t so bad.

I don’t think it was Steele who chose not to do Real Time, hardball, Maddow, etc. I think it was the “powers that be” who prevented him from going on because the second he was out as chairman he jumped to do the Daily Show and Real Time the same week. Maybe I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt cause I like the guy and don’t like very many Republicans, needless to say I like the hire.

It makes sense that MSNBC couldn’t get anyone better. Might as well have Sarah Palin as their political analyst.

I’m not surprised. Most political analysts on news stations are just their to broadcast their opinions, usually without any sort of facts to back them up.
