Facts About Spending Republicans Selectively Forgot About

With the fiery topic of the debt ceiling still going strong with no compromise in sight from Republicans, but a hell of a lot of concessions from Dems, it leaves us wondering if this is not about the apocalyptic scenario of the economy the Right has painted for the eyes of America.

The President allowed cuts to ‘entitlement’ programs which will devastate a great deal of the population – but, Republicans will have you to believe that those programs are the demon which is driving this country into debt hell – but that’s bullshit. Our problem stems from the necessity of spending cuts as well as revenue.

Military expenditure needs oversight and that too is simply dismissed by most on the right.

Some Republicans actually welcome a government shutdown. But, if this is about our economic well being, why are they refusing to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, after all, they were  a temporary measure that failed miserably.

Corporations are enjoying tax loopholes/tax cuts while some are sending jobs overseas and even then, Republicans cheer on even more tax breaks for the sake of Corporate welfare.

This infographic presents some Facts about spending that Republicans forgot about:

If all of these points are so casually disregarded, is this topic of the century really about our economy — or are we they just misinformed — or perhaps given disinformation by those that are certain to profit.

In regards to #5) Punishing the poor and elderly; do we really want to be an America that no longer gives a shit about the people, not ‘we the Corporations’, but, ‘we the people’ collectively — just as we’ve always done.  Selectively they’ve forgotten that without people, there is no labor, therefore no Corporations/power.

Sadly true. The first one exemplifies one of the acts of disinformation perpetrated by their go-to guys at Fox News. Obama did not raise taxes and the tea crazies were holding signs saying “don’t tax me bro” or “taxed enough already”. If they acted with sense we would have listened but they shouted us down with the craziest talk, “get your govt hands off my medicare.” There is no winning them over with facts if they have the IQ of a bag of chips.
