‘Moderate’ Mitt Romney Also Signs the Anti-Gay Pledge

Conservatives are going pledge crazy. Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and now Mitt Romney have signed the anti-gay pledge, in opposition to same sex marriage.

NOM, the National Organization for Marriage previously dedicated time, attention and money to opposing equality for everyone. In June, the ultra-Conservative group pledged $2 million to reverse New York’s same sex marriage law. Money speaks volumes in politics because the aforementioned Republican frontrunners sealed the deal with a signature.

Given the attention Congresswoman Bachmann’s husband has been receiving over his ‘gay repairative’ treatment at his tax payer funded clinic, her signing this pledge came as no surprise. But, Mitt Romney has steered clear of the pledges which have come into the public eye recently.

These pledges are political suicide, but to take a guess, Mitt Romney wants to garner more Conservative support. Mitt Romney was the only moderate candidate who is ranking high in the polls.

NOM’s closet must be packed full. They protest too much and so do their political counterparts.

Where are the moderates exactly?

H/T Politico with thanks.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney blamed President Barack Obama Monday morning for Standard & Poor’s decision to downgrade U.S. debt, saying the nation risks losing its sovereignty if it does not take “corrective action!”

It’s a job stimulus pledge, because everyone knows that married gays are taking jobs away from patriotic married heterosexuals.

Well, hey. It makes as much sense as any of the rationalizations that these right wing homophobes have been using …

Unless Obama continues to copitulate to the right and gets no new revenue in the next year, the GOP is dead in the water and they know it. They are grasping at straws here. These ‘pledges’ are alienating more people than they are exciting. And did anyone else catch Palin’s language the other night. “if we were domestic terrorists, shoot, President Obama would…” I don’t think that was part of her normal word salad…I think it was a call to assassinate the man they hate more than anyone ever on the face of the Earth.

Opposing gay marriage is not prejudice. Oh wait, it is.
