Ryan Rhodes the founder and chairman of the Iowa Tea Party movement and a female companion/activist, approached President Obama while he was shaking hands in Iowa. Rhodes seemed befuddled at the term ‘terrorist’ which Vice-President Joe Biden labeled the Tea Party with during the debt ceiling debacle.
While President Obama remained cordial, I wish to God that he had said, ‘If it walks like a duck, it’s a duck.’
Rhodes must have missed the memo. Tim Pawlenty, the former GOP canidate boasted in an ad that he’s shut the government down previously. Freshmen GOPers while under fits of political Tourettes screamed for a shutdown. Since last year, they’ve been having Tea Party orgasms over the thought of our government being shut the hell down, regardless of the consequences. Warnings were given from both sides of the aisle that defaulting could be catastrophic, but the Tea Party wouldn’t budge.
While Dems met spending cut expectations, even Harry Reid’s which did not raise taxes on the wealthy, the Tea Party-led Congress said no. In fact, their expectations were not only met, they were surpassed.
House Speaker John Boehner stated they got 98% of what they wanted, but afterward, the Tea Party had tantrums over not having enough.
Then S&P’s report came out specifically calling our the lack of revenue. Regardless, their selective memory issues kicked in and they tried to pass the blame onto the President. Never in American history has a faction of one party given in to such juvenile behavior. Without using consequential thinking/behavior, they brought our country to its economic knees.
Never has the world witnessed such Kabuki-style politics, thereby making America appear weak. As we sit scratching our heads over hearing we could be demoted in status yet again, we can easily conclude that economic terrorism was not only utilized, but blackmail was as well.
Thou doth protest too fucking much.
