Of the top three Republican Presidential candidates in the Iowa polls, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul do not take issue with the repeal of DADT, but Rick Santorum who surged in the polls to third place would, and he would take it a step further.
Santorum would go as far as to invalidate same sex couples that are legally married.

Recently interviewed by MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, Santorum stated that he would not only support a federal Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, but he additionally supports invalidating all legally married same-sex unions. Furthermore he claimed that “same-sex couples can contract for everything” except government benefits and compared the loving marriages of many gay and lesbian couples to having a friend or an aunt.
This leaves to question as to what sort of relationship Mr. Santorum has/had with his aunt. It’s rather telling that a GOP candidate who has homophobic tendencies can garner such support.
TODD: What would you do with same-sex couples who got married? Would you make them get divorced?
SANTORUM: Well, their marriage would be invalid. I think if the constitution says “marriage is this,” then people whose marriage is not consistent with the constitution… I’d love to think there’s another way of doing it.

A recent study concluded that heterosexual men who project the most anti-gay attitudes reported that they were not aroused by gay male sex videos, however, their penises stated otherwise. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies. We can only surmise that Santorum is a self-loathing gay man stuck in the GOP closet.
Perhaps it’s Rick Santorum’s marriage that should be invalidated.
