Blame the Victim: Republicans Cling Desperately to Conspiracy theories on Sandra Fluke

The Georgetown coed, Sandra Fluke who wanted to speak at the uptight all male hearing on reproductive rights had be victimized further after all, when there’s nothing else to turn to as a defense, blaming the victim is the mantra for many vocal Republicans. After all, it’s not possible that an intelligent woman exists with her own opinions that are not dictated by a political mouthpiece. Apparently not.

WorldNetDaily ‘reports':

Prior to her statements to congressional Democrats, did Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke have any prior connection to Obama administration officials?

Did the congresswomen who pushed Fluke’s testimony coordinate with a marketing and polling outfit that recently conducted a survey to determine whether contraception mandates can become a possible presidential election issue?

I can help the author – the answer is no.

MRCTV:

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students’ birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

Oh no. She’s an….activist! Gasp! Who knew. She wanted to speak at the stuffy meeting to determine reproductive rights for women – do you think that’s what possibly clued them in? And she’s THIRTY years old? Well that does it — she’s obviously a Communist too.

After that particular story was submitted to Fark.com, hilarity ensued:

- Everyone knows women are not supposed to have opinions or write things. Unless they involve getting me another beer or sammiches. This is truly a winning strategy for the GOP.

– Oh my god, she has opinions!

-Why won’t she get pregnant and barefoot and make me a damned sandwich? What does she think this is, 2012?

– Only the ordained clergy are allowed to have opinions on the law.

– Well in that case, Rush was correct in calling her slut and you all should vote straight-ticket Republican in the fall.

What woman would not want to be subjected to the right wing media? During a debate in a Digg.com comment thread, a mutual friend Chilidogs wrote:

-Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin denounced Fluke as a “femme-agogue tool.”

-The right-wing site Jawa Report illustrated a post about Fluke with a picture of a tattoo that reads “Semen Demon.”

-Pam Geller wrote that Fluke is “banging it five times a day” and that “calling this whore a slut was a softball.”

-Accuracy in Media’s Don Irvine called her a “skank.”

-Former CPAC Blogger of The Year, Ace of Spades, called Fluke a “shiftless rent-a-cooch from East Whoreville.”

-Michelle Malkin guest blogger Doug Ross used “Got Slut?” in a headline and suggested Fluke suffered from “nymphomania.”

-Dana Loesch complained the controversy surrounding Limbaugh’s three-day “slut” campaign represented a “manufactured” story.”

Fox Nation deemed  Ms. Fluke as “fame hungry.” There are countless more which make it all too obvious why no one would want to be raked over the coals but the rabid right.

Republicans are talking about sex yet pretending it’s about religious liberty, meanwhile their moral compass, as flawed as it is, is being shoved down our collective throat. Every Republican with the exception of Olympia Snowe supported the Blunt Amendment – aka: political suicide.

We get it. Republicans are freaking the hell out with no concept of how to think without talk show host Rush Limbaugh dictating their thoughts.

It’s 2012. Try to keep up.

I don’t know, Anomaly . . . it sure sounds like Limbaugh is directing their thoughts! Except, they’re all vile miscreants – love the way the right-wing women jump on the female-bashing bandwagon, eh?

    • NomadicView

Anyway, this isn’t about one insult but three days of insults and personal attacks. Rush makes his living by being aggressive and obnoxious and before long there were a host of copy-cats who wanted to up the volume just a little more.
I remember when he told poor children that when school lunch programs were closed during summer they could find meals in community dumpsters. Is that really what America stands for now?

Good grief. And last night Sarah jumped into this and complained that the right wing women are treated far worse than Sandra. So whoever is the nastiest wins?

    • NomadicView

Sarah’s the poster child for America’s race to the political bottom

This “blaming the victim” is becoming quite old now. Santorum tried to do it the other week when he claimed that gays were vilifying him because of his views.

A 30 year old graduate student begging for government handouts/mandates is not a victim. Period. Welcome to modern politics. People get dirty when you wrestle with pigs, elephants, donkeys, whatever. Both sides need to stop whining like little #$%^@#’s.

She wasn’t begging for money from the government. She is expressing support for a law that mandates health insurance companies cover birth control. You don’t pay her premiums (as a taxpayer), she still pays her own premiums.

Besides, supporting a law isn’t the reason she’s being called a victim — the assault care of Limbaugh and his fellows — along with people like you who turn a blind eye — is the reason why she’s a victim.

Allow me to speak for the one’s who cannot be heard… the aborted. I cry to you “Let me live; I have so much to offer all of mankind. I love you. Why do you hate me? I understand, as I grow I may become more like you, but maybe I will not. Maybe I will be more like Jonas Salk. Perhaps, I will be the one to find the cure.” As for me, I will guard myself against the self-righteous indignation behind the constant head-talk of the media and their handlers, the corporate machine of war, pharmaceuticals, fiat money, cotton, cigarettes, beer, booze, and bureaucracy.

Limbaugh created Fluke. You wouldn’t know her name without Rush’s help. The media creates it’s own opposition. Wake up.

  • GiddyUpHoss

I’m a Conservative woman, and Rush doesn’t dictate my thoughts. He “reflects” them, and I’m sure I can speak for most of his listeners. The Left is all about silencing opposition, and it is on parade right now. But this, too, shall pass. You can cover up the Truth, but you can’t kill it. Funny how the Left tried desperately to create its own talk radio (remember Air America?), but it failed miserably. Why? Because no one wanted to hear what they had to say. Reading comments around the internet reminds me of why.

This whole “contraception” issue was created by the Democrats to distract from the real issues threatening this nation. No one canNOT get birth control in this nation. All Ms. Fluke had to do was go to her local health department, but noooo – her mission (admittedly why she enrolled at Georgetown in the first place) was to make this a political issue, trying to force Georgetown to do something against its beliefs. She is no innocent victim. And the Democrats used her very effectively. She’s connected to the Obama administration, and this is hypocrisy on parade. That was what Rush was trying to point out, the hypocrisy of it all. I listened to every bit of it, and he what he said was obviously in jest, and I found it to be quite funny.

I hope that we can all refocus on what is important: oil prices, high unemployment, defecting American business, etc. The Left’s focus on this is not only silly, but it wreaks of desperation.

    Have a nice day :)
