High Priestess of moral codes Bristol Palin on why same sex parents suck (studies say otherwise)

This title is full of jealousy,”Hail to the Chiefs – Malia and Sasha Obama” but we’ll disregard that for the  moment, even though it’s obvious that Bristol wanted to be First Daughter and deserved the title more because her mother is more patriotic while shooting a moose down from whatever distance she claims at the moment.

The high priestess of moral values

Bristol’s blog post, which suspiciously reads precisely like her mother’s ramblings, begins with:

Let’s pause for just one second.  When Christian women run for high office, people inevitably bring up the question of submission.  Once, Michele Bachmann, for example, was asked during a debate, “As president, would you be submissive to your husband?”

People automatically assume that a Christian female President isn’t capable of making decisions without her spouse’s stamp of approval.  (I should add female Republican candidates –liberal women don’t get the same kind of questions.)

And somehow, she veers off to prove the point that submissiveness is such a better idea.

While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads. In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.

Bristol had a brain fart. Again. Homosexuality and heterosexuality has existed for thousands of years, possibly even before the times of homo-sapiens. Possibly even before the time of marriage itself.

Study results in homosexual parents with kids conclude:

Researchers looked at information gleaned from 15 studies on more than 500 children, evaluating possible stigma, teasing and social isolation, adjustment and self-esteem, opposite gender role models, sexual orientation, and strengths.

Studies from 1981 to 1994, including 260 children reared by either heterosexual mothers or same-sex mothers after divorce, found no differences in intelligence, type or prevalence of psychiatric disorders, self-esteem, well-being, peer relationships, couple relationships, or parental stress.

“Some studies showed that single heterosexual parents’ children have more difficulties than children who have parents of the same sex,” Perrin says. “They did better in discipline, self-esteem, and had less psychosocial difficulties at home and at school.”

Another study of 37 children of 27 divorced lesbian mothers and a similar number of children of heterosexual mothers found no differences in behavior, adjustment, gender identity, and peer relationships.

I can only assume that Bristol is in the mood for attention. Palin Jr. is no expert on married couples with children, considering she’s an unwed mother.

The jealousy pours out:

So let me get this straight – it’s a problem if my mom listened too much to my dad, but it’s a heroic act if the President made a massive change in a policy position that could affect the entire nation after consulting with his teenage daughters?

Sarah, did you write that post?

I really wish the studies in question were (A) more recent and (B) the actual studies were referenced in the article. I’d love to use that WebMD article in an argument against the bigotry, but the first thing I’d be asked is to reference the actual studies.

When you have belief, you need no stinkin’ studies.
