Rep. Steve King compares Immigrants to dogs: “Get the pick of the litter”

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is one of the most vociferous opponents to immigration, but the xenophobic politician just upped the ante comparing immigrants to dogs at a town hall meeting in Pocahontas, Iowa yesterday.

King told constituents that the U.S. should pick only the best immigrants in the way that one chooses the “pick of the litter.”

Transcript:

“You put out a beacon like the Statue of Liberty and who comes here? The most vigorous from every country that has donated legal immigrants to America. The cream of the crop. We’ve always had bird dogs around our place in our family there’s a black lab and white lab a yellow lab, and my brother has a chocolate lab. Well you go in and you look at a litter of pups, and you watch them. You watch how they play — they run around a little bit — and what do you want? You want a good bird dog, and you want one that’s gonna be aggressive? Pick the one that’s the friskiest, the one that’s in games the most — not the one that’s over there sleeping in the corner. You want a pet to sit on the couch, pick the one that’s sleeping in the corner. That’s — so, you get the pick of the litter, you got yourself a pretty good bird dog. We got the pick of every donor civilization on the planet because it’s hard to get here, you had to be inspired to come. We got the vigor from the planet to come to America. Whichever generation it was, and then we taught our children that same thing.”

There are numerous insane quotes by Steve King so we’ll just throw one or two out there. Mother Jones reports:

Rep. Steve King has compared border-crossers to livestock, asserted that President Obama “favors the black person,” and described illegal immigration as a “slow-motion terrorist attack.” Last summer, the Iowa Republican proclaimed that he would support amnesty for illegal immigrants under just one condition—that “every time we give amnesty for an illegal alien, we deport a liberal.”

Who votes for this hate monger?

The one that’s snoozing could also be the ring leader catching up on some zs after a failed attempt at puppy-kind, world domination.

He makes me ashamed I’m a former Iowan. I know there are smarter people than that in Iowa. Why do they let they idiots run for office and vote them in? Has everyone gone mad back there? Have all those farm subsidies warped their brains? Are these the ones who couldn’t qualify to go to higher education because of lower grades? Those that went had to move away as there just wasn’t enough non-agricultural jobs to hire us. We wanted to move forward, not backwards! Has anyone investigated how many illegals were brought in to work on those corporate hog farms for low pay. They don’t mind them, do they. Or in the packing plants. I guess that is the pick of the litter they are looking for….slaves! It’s OK if they don’t live in my neighborhood. Steve King, you are a hypocrite!

What else would we expect from a fool with a K-9 brain?

    1) Native American’s were just the first in a long line of settlers to this continent.
    2) When the US was formed, the state of Georgia was a penal colony.
    3) The American DNA is filled with liars, cheats, religious zealots, hard workers, slaves, warriors, soldiers, criminals and entrepreneurs
