Dick Cheney: Mitt is the “only man” to lead America through a 9/11 crisis (forgets Obama Accomplished Bush’s Mission)

Thursday former Vice-President Dick Cheney spoke in front of a group of Republican donors, bolding stating that Mitt Romney is the “only man” qualified to lead the country through a potential crisis like the 9/11 attacks. Cheney added that Romney is the only candidate in the race who can handle the “kind of challenges a president has to deal with.” Dick and I have two different memories of what occurred on 9/11 – and long afterward when President Obama Accomplished Bush’s Mission. And 9/11 occurred on Bush’s watch — fair warning was given, so the bombings could have possibly been avoided.

CBS reports:

President Bush was told in the months before the Sept. 11 attacks that Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network might hijack U.S. passenger planes – information which prompted the administration to issue an alert to federal agencies – but not the American public.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said that while President Bush was told last summer that bin Laden’s al Qaeda network might hijack planes, “until the attack took place, I think it’s fair to say that no one envisioned that [using planes as suicide bombs] as a possibility.”

However, a federal report issued exactly two years before the Sept. 11 attacks contrasts with that statement.

The report, entitled the “Sociology and Psychology of Terrorism: Who Becomes a Terrorist and Why?,” warned the executive branch that bin Laden’s terrorists might hijack an airliner and dive bomb it into the Pentagon or other government building.

It described the suicide hijacking as one of several possible retribution attacks al Qaeda might seek for the 1998 U.S. airstrike against bin Laden’s camps in Afghanistan.

“Suicide bomber(s) belonging to al Qaeda’s Martyrdom Battalion could crash-land an aircraft packed with high explosives (C-4 and semtex) into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), or the White House,” the September 1999 report said.

After 9/11 a “war on terrorism” was waged by U.S. personnel all over the world.

The future of freedom reports:

A military invasion of Afghanistan that killed countless Afghanis despite the fact that U.S. officials never provided evidence, as they promised, of complicity by Afghani government officials in the 9/11 attacks. Despite the fact that the invasion succeeded in effecting regime change in Afghanistan, it failed to accomplish its purported purpose — the capture of Osama bin Laden.

America is still in Afghanistan, yet Republicans want to keep our troops firmly planted there.

The U.S. government now wields the arbitrary and dictatorial power to take foreigners suspected of terrorism into custody as “enemy combatants” and deny them due process of law, trial by jury, and other fundamental procedural rights as well as subject them to torture, sex abuse, humiliation, and other cruel and unusual punishments.

Torture was made commonplace by Dick and his cohorts. Dick’s nod in Mitt’s direction is the kiss of death. There are still potentially innocent people held in Gitmo without being afforded due process. Shall we talk about Halliburton? Cheney profited from war, the war they started by invading a sovereign country.

Runor has it, when Dick Cheney goes to hell, Satan will bow to him.

Yep, Romney is obviously Cheney’s choice as the only person who could handle a “9/11-like attack”, because the Bush/Cheney Administration did such a great job
    - recognizing and acting upon the intelligence data and other clues that a terrorist attack of this type was in the works
    - tracking down the mastermind of 9/11 and either apprehending him or “taking him out”
    - invading Iraq, recognizing its involvement in the 9/11 attack … and its stockpiles of WMDs creating an imminent threat to the U.S.
    - accomplishing our mission in Iraq in such a timely fashion
    - gathering so much useful intelligence through the use of torture and humiliation
    - improving our standing in the world as a shining beacon of humane treatment and due process as a result of the judicious manner in which prisoners were incarcerated at Gitmo and other facilities.

What Romney would have done is make sure that the reconstruction contract went to an offshore holding company that he owned.

Satan might tip his fedora to Cheney or give him a nod but a bow? – no way. Cheney however, will be surprised to find himself at the same level in Hell as Saddam Hussein and the 9/11 highjackers… awk-ward.

Is Dick Cheney serious? Imagine that Mitt Romney had been president
instead of George W. Bush. What would Romney have done when he
was informed of the 9/11 attacks? He probably would have fainted!
