Rep Joe Walsh: You can’t find one instance of an abortion necessary to save the life of the mother

Proving again that Todd Akin is not a one-off Republican in dire need of a biology 101 class, another one has stepped up to claim the title for ‘Most Absurd.’  Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Tea) stated Thursday that, “Abortion bans don’t need exceptions for the life of the mother because of “modern technology and science,.”

Via Politico:

“With modern technology and science, you can’t find one instance” of an abortion necessary to save the life of the mother, Walsh said after a debate with Tammy Duckworth, his Democratic opponent, according to the Chicago Tribune. “… There is no such exception as life of the mother, and as far as health of the mother, same thing.”

More astounding: A We Ask America poll conducted earlier this week found a tiny lead for Walsh over Duckworth: 47 percent to 46 percent. How is this man in such a tight race in any poll?

While we’re talking about the absurd: Why is Rep. Broun running unopposed?

As reported here, Rep. Paul Broun who believes that evolution is a lie “straight from the pit of hell,” was running unopposed in his district until now. A write-in candidate has come into play: Charles Darwin. And to tout Broun’s opposition, a talk radio host in nearby Atlanta is trying to rally voters to cast write-in votes for Darwin, the English naturalist who first published his theory of evolution in 1859.

Sadly, ‘Charles Darwin’ is a tongue-in-cheek write in candidate. Broun is running unopposed and Walsh is leading Tammy Duckworth.

What the fucking fuck?

Shawn, a reader here adds:

I’m going to comment on this, simply because it hits at home so much this week. She thought she just had something wrong with his stomach, but when they ran tests, they discovered she was pregnant. Very happy for us. They then informed us that we needed to goto the emergency room immediately. After doing an ultrasound, we found out it was an ectopic pregnancy. The baby was in her tube. There was no choice but to abort it. If we did not, the baby would continue to grow, and my wife would have died an extremely painful death.

People like this have no touch in reality. The ability to abort a pregnancy is modern science. They simply gave her a shot instead of doing major surgery. After several days of being in absolute pain, she is finally getting better.

I’m glad your wife survived and is feeling better, Shawn. Best wishes to your family.

Religion is after all organized irrationality. The whole core concept there is “faith” – believing in stuff without proof, in fact often against known facts and proof. Why are people surprised when people who organize their lives in that fashion just “have faith” and totally ignore science and known facts? It is, after all, inevitable.

It’s thoroughly exhausting keeping track of the lunatics within the GOP. http://borderlessnewsandviews.com/
