With a jobless rate of 7.2%, Gov. Kasich is afforded credit by Republicans while Democrats believe that the President’s economic policies helped to better the State’s economy, therefore, Obama should receive the lion share of credit. The economy in Ohio will play a key factor in the upcoming Presidential election. Winning Ohio is crucial for both candidates. In the last 12 elections, no candidate has won the White House without winning Ohio.
Most polling numbers show Obama with an advantage over Republican candidate Mitt Romney, but a couple of them show the race to be close to tied in the Buckeye state.
