Surprise: Donald Rumsfeld (R-War) praises Mitt Romney’s war talk today

Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney Monday touted military action in Syria and denounced President Obama for bringing the troops home from Iraq. After more than a decade of war – wars which are a large part of our economic issues – Americans are war weary.

But, someone’s got Mitt Romney’s back on war talk. Donald Rumsfeld — and he’s an expert.

Rumsfeld took to Twitter, “Terrific, comprehensive speech by Gov. Romney at VMI. He knows America’s role in the world should be as a leader not as a spectator.”

Rumsfeld’s endorsement of Romney’s speech may not be a good thing.

A few Rumsfeld quotes.

Rumsfeld [March 30, 2003] on Weapons of mass desrutcion in Iraq, “We know where they are. They are in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad.”

There are people who in large measure have information that we need . . . so that we can track down the weapons of mass destruction in that country. Donald Rumsfeld April 25, 2003

“I would not say that the future is necessarily less predictable than the past. I think the past was not predictable when it started.”

“I am not going to give you a number for it because it’s not my business to do intelligent work.” -asked to estimate the number of Iraqi insurgents while testifying before Congress

Check out the similarity between Rumsfeld and Romney in these quotes:

“I believe what I said yesterday. I don’t know what I said, but I know what I think, and, well, I assume it’s what I said.”

“Needless to say, the President is correct. Whatever it was he said.”

Here’s Romney’s quote:

“I Stand by What I Said, Whatever It Was.”

Two peas in a pod. A vote for Romney, is a vote for another round with Bush.
