Cory Booker tweets on income inequality, gets called a Socialist, Mayor makes food stamp challenge, it is on!

Cory Booker isn’t just the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, but he’s also a superhero. The man has saved citizens from burning buildings, fixed traffic lights, dug residents out of snowbound areas after a blizzard, and recently, invited people into his home after they had lost power, to recharge their tech devices, warm up, kick back and watch a movie. After Superstorm Sandy’s aftermath, Booker took to tweeting non-stop with updates on power outages, calming upset constituents and checking up on those in need. The twitter battle all began when Booker tweeted to a man whose transgender friends are nervous about moving to Newark, “Want me to give them a call?” The man is a Saint. So, now his next task is at hand.

After Superman…I mean Mayor Booker tweeted, “An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics” Plutarch ancient Greek historian (c. 46 – 120 CE),” a Twitter battle of sorts began.

Meet @MWadeNC, who describes herself as: “Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), fighting against any and all forms of socialism/communism.. Army Veteran, Army Daughter,  Army Wife.” Location: The United States of America. For the record, the slayer of Socialism and Communism’s twitter account is protected/locked. Cory Booker, although he does not don a red cape and should, is not in hiding — his thoughts are tweeted in the open for the public, not hiding under an unknown, locked down account — akin to what one might do in “Communist” countries.

Huffington Post reports,

Another Twitter user accused Booker of wanting to “redistribute wealth,” and @MWadeNC chimed in, writing that nutrition is not a responsibility of the government and questioning why children would need food provided at school as they already have access to food stamps.

How dare children eat at home and at school! That’s just not done.

I would never accept the food stamp challenge because I am a mere mortal and know that I would not win, but Cory’s going for it.

@MWadeNC tweeted, “Why there is a family today that is ‘too poor’ to afford breakfast?” Booker tweeted back. “Lets you and I try to live on food stamps in New Jersey (high cost of living) and feed a family for a week or month. U game?”

The University of Bridgeport offered to referee, and the contest appears to be ON!

Note for the contestants: Get used to Ramen Noodles. Get used to eating/drinking those foul cups of brothy noodly ickiness every fucking day. Have fun guys!

We already know that Cory Booker doesn’t need silly food to live.  He can merely fast forward time until the end of the challenge, then come jogging out in triumph.

MWadeNC is a soulless, uneducated cunt. Providing for the General Welfare is in fact a responsibility of the Government. Feeding children at school falls in that category. What a bitch.

    • That Guy

While I agree that the person in question is astoundingly misinformed, your type of language isn’t exactly educating the masses.

      • Other Guy

        Yah, don’t be that guy

She may be uneducated, but it appears that you are too.
