Captain Obvious (aka: John McCain) admits that his real problem is with President Obama, not Susan Rice

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has had issues with President Obama since 2008, when he was handily defeated. That much is obvious. So, his staunch opposition to anyone the President wants to appoint, highlights his bitterness, as it does his colleagues.

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, McCain stated that the real problem with the Obama administration’s response to September’s terror attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi has more to do with President Barack Obama than with U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, despite McCain having spent weeks consistently attacking the ambassador, with Republicans along side him nipping at her heels.

Chris Wallace asked McCain whether he’d vote for Rice to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State — which he has repeatedly said he would not do — and McCain declined to reiterate his staunch opposition — so we can safely conclude that he will not, even though he has no reason not to, with exception to an obvious grudge against the President.

Via Mediaite:

Wallace then asked if there was anything Rice could do to win over McCain. “She can give everyone the benefit of explaining their position and the actions that they took,” the senator replied. “I’ll be glad to have the opportunity to discuss these issues with her.”

He continued: “I think she deserves the ability and the opportunity to explain herself and her position, just as she said. But she’s not the problem. The problem is the president of the United States who in a debate with Mitt Romney said that he had said it was a terrorist attack.”

(my bold)

Except that Susan Rice has previously offered her time, to discuss these issues, on several occasions. It’s hilarious to watch McCain on Sunday talk shows, after he admonished Susan Rice for the same. What’s disconcerting is to observe GOPers parading Susan Rice around as an inept choice, led by McCain as he bitterly reflects on his own defeat in 2008 — because we know that’s what this is about. In addition to McCain’s astounding public display,  97 House Republicans joined him by co-signing a letter warning President Obama that Rice’s public comments after the attack on the mission in Benghazi “caused irreparable damage to her credibility both at home and around the world.”

Even though Congress typically plays little formal role in foreign affairs, a significant group of House Republicans have launched a campaign against Susan Rice.

DailyKos notes:

The Monday letter was written by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), chairman of a House subcommittee on terrorism. Those that signed the letter are among the most conservative House Republicans, and at least 10 of them lost reelection bids this month.

Again, we are presented with a dilemma. When Sonya Sotomayor was scrutinized, the irony on display was mind boggling. Sen. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, a KKK sympathizer, took issue with her ‘wise Latina’ remark, calling it racist. Republicans followed in lockstep, each one, taking issue with the ‘wise Latina’ remark, holding her up to public scrutiny, akin to a three ring circus.

Now we have another intelligent woman. Another woman of color. Another three ring circus.

I think we can safely call John McCain, ‘Goober’ now, without exaggeration.

Ok, so many signed up for the promises of money to go to college…..McCain stated, if the money given to vets to go to college is increase..it would make them want to leave the military and go to college. (http://themoderatevoice.com/19928/why-is-john-mccain-selling-out-our-vets/ ) oh and he dumped his wife when he was set free and came back to the USA because she looked like crap after an accident, (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html) and after he cheated on her (http://www.orangejuiceblog.com/2008/07/mccain-dumped-his-first-wife-after-cheating-on-her/). There are also many videos if him berading and being condenscending to those with pows’ family members when he is holding a public hearing on the issue. just do youtube.HE IS SCUM in my opinion. MORE ON SCUM:

Why Is John McCain So Determined To Sell Out Our Iraq & Afghan War Veterans?: “McCain’s rationalizations are very much like the Bush administration’s own: Giving soldiers their due by enhancing educational and other benefits under a bipartisan bill that passed the Senate last week will encourage them to leave a military it has done so much to break, so lets force them to remain enlisted as long as possible if they can’t afford to attend an expensive four-year college until they have “earned” the right to do so on the government’s dime. ” SOURCE:http://themoderatevoice.com/19928/why-is-john-mccain-selling-out-our-vets/

“Fox News and the Los Angeles Times uncritically reported attacks by Sen. John McCain’s campaign on Sen. Barack Obama for voting against an emergency supplemental appropriations bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which also included provisions for veterans, without noting that McCain also voted against legislation that would have funded troops in the field and care for veterans.” ,…, “[Los Angeles] Times nor Fox News pointed out that on March 29, 2007, McCain himself voted
against H.R. 1591, an emergency spending bill that would have funded the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq and would have provided more than $1 billion in additional
funds to the Department of Veterans Affairs.”,.., “Moreover, McCain has voted against other legislation funding care for veterans,
which the Times and Fox News anchors did not mention. On April 26, 2006, McCain
voted against the “Akaka Amendment,” which would have “provide[d] an additional
$430,000,000 for the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for
outpatient care and treatment for veterans.” In addition, on March 14, 2006,
McCain voted against “increas[ing] Veterans medical services funding by $1.5
billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes.” On March
10, 2004, McCain also voted against “creat[ing] a reserve fund to allow for an
increase in Veterans’ medical care by $1.8 billion by eliminating tax
    loopholes.”” SOURCE” http://vets4politics.blogspot.com/2008/05/real-john-mccain-on-veterans-issues-he.html

The real pity is, all these idiots, losers and poo hurlers of the GOP all have followers who believe their every word and regurgitate it without it ever penetrating their brains. From ear to mouth, no thought needed at all.
