Debt Ceiling: Lindsey Graham wants Social Security on the table, Ronald Reagan Disagrees

The debt ceiling is being utilized as leverage in yet another hostage taking crisis. This time our economy will suffer again if we do not allow Republicans to hit Social Security, which they continually and wrongly call an ‘entitlement’ program. Of course, last time our economy suffered dearly when these tactics were used too, so much so that America endured its first credit downgrade in history.

Lindsey Graham on Social Security:

Raising the debt ceiling enables us to pay our bills — it’s not just this president’s spending but past presidents as well. I don’t like George W. Bush’s wars but we pay for them. It’s on our tab.

Gosh, I wonder what Ronald Reagan would say about this?

Ronald Reagan would be called a RINO by today’s Republicans.

    Better minds than mine proclaim:

“There has been class warfare going on,” Buffett, 81, said in a Sept. 30 interview with Charlie Rose on PBS. It’s just that my class is winning. And my class isn’t just winning, I mean we’re killing them.”

“While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks,” Buffett wrote in a Sunday New York Times Op-ed.

“One reason companies are so profitable is that they’re paying employees less than they ever have as a share of GDP. And that, in turn, is one reason the economy is so weak: Those “wages” are other companies’ revenue.

In short, our current system and philosophy is creating a country of a few million overlords and 300+ million serfs.” Blodget

Basically, they want to steal the Social Security fund and use it to pay their taxes.

Let them fail to raise the debt ceiling again.
    I love repeating history.

Let’s see what happens if the Republicans fail to raise the debt limit. It will be fun to watch.
