The following words come straight from Governor Jan Brewer (R-Wow) who once hallucinated headless bodies in the desert, but they also echo equally detached politicians who refuse to take human responsibility for climate change. In responsie to a question about climate change she answered, “Where in the hell did that come from?” Of course Brewer thought the mic was cut off.
Start at approximately the 0.45 mark if you don’t care to watch the entirety of the video:
Brewer said, “Everybody has an opinion on it and I probably don’t believe that it’s man made. I believe, you know, that weather elements are controlled by other things.” Unfortunately, she didn’t care to mention what those ‘things’ were.
Our friends at The Political Carnival noted:
The soon-to-be forgotten moron on climate change, Todd “legitimate rape” Akin, sits on the Science Committee, as does Paul Evolution, Embryology and Big Bang Theory are “lies straight from the pit of hell, Climate Change is a Hoax” Broun.
This is all just a bad dream, right? Please?
No you silly goose, it is not a bad dream. It is the GOP.
Straight from FoxNews.com in 2007:
Scientists from 113 countries issued a landmark report Friday saying they have little doubt global warming is caused by man, and predicting that hotter temperatures and rises in sea level will “continue for centuries” no matter how much humans control their pollution.
A top U.S. government scientist, Susan Solomon, said “there can be no question that the increase in greenhouse gases are dominated by human activities.”
“The public should not sit back and say ‘There’s nothing we can do’,” Steiner said. “Anyone who would continue to risk inaction on the basis of the evidence presented here will one day in the history books be considered irresponsible.”
If Jan Brewer doesn’t want to believe the Fox News link, how about a Koch funded study which concludes, Global Warming is almost entirely due to carbon pollution.
From this post alone and Gotta Laff’s post, I count 5 ‘irresponsible ‘politicians. And it may be too late to turn this around. You sure showed us!
