GOPer pushing Bill requiring kids to Pledge Loyalty Oath To Constitution & God before graduating

An anti-immigrant Tea Party Republican lawmaker in Arizona is pushing a bill which would require high school students to recite an oath even more rigid than the oath the President of the United States is required to make, as a pre-requisite to graduating. First of all, this is not Constitutional.  When President Obama recently took the oath, it was his prerogative whether to close it with “so help me God” and he did.

The New Civil Rights Movement reports:

Rep. Bob Thorpe (image, left) is gaining GOP support for House Bill 2467 that would require this oath from all high school students in order to be eligible to graduate:

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose or evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; so help me God.”

This is just what ‘Murica needs for our freedom y’all. High school students swearing an oath to  “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” And then there’s the matter of God. I’m pretty sure this nut’s God and mine are two entirely different entities. They are just kids. For once, can’t kids just be kids?

    “…that I take this obligation freely…”

    …because if I don’t pledge this obligation, I can’t graduate High School.

    Yeah…sounds free…

Are they taking an oath to go into a branch of the service? Kids don’t do it those tea bagers will try to make you go to war if the repubs. get back in. Because they will say you have already taken the oath. God will know what you stand for. If you have love in your heart. He will be the one judging what you do. I’m tired of them saying your not aloud to say the pledge in school anymore. I take my grandson to public school 4 days a week and every morning they place their hand over their hearts. I PLEDGE ALLEGENCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS. ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. GOD was not taken out of the pledge there. Sweep your own door step first, then move on.

I’m on your side here, but there’s a point I like to make on occasion:

Yes, let’s make sure ALL our kids pledge their Socialist bent…

Arizona’s idea of The Constitution is, “I decide what it means, not the Supreme Court.”

Ask those sheriffs and the governor.

    Too much sun.
