School shooting in Atlanta : Two injured including a teacher, suspect not identified yet

This just came in so the details are sketchy (updated below). In Atlanta, a student was shot and a teacher was injured on Thursday afternoon. A spokesman with the Atlanta police confirmed the incident, saying that the two victims were taken to the hospital.  One person is in custody.

WSBTV reports:

The student was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.

Police sources initially told WSB-TV the shooting took place at nearby Carver High School.

Price Middle School is located at 1670 Benjamin Weldon Bickers Drive SE.

Channel 2 crews are at the school and the hospital gathering additional information and will have live updates beginning on Channel 2 Action News at 4.

The police have not released the identities of the victims, or who the suspect is. I’ll update as soon as more info is in.

Update: 

The gun shot victim is a 14-year-old who was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the head, the Associated Press reports. Atlanta Police say they have two people in custody in connection with the shooting, according to MyFoxAtlanta.com.

The school was placed on lockdown and authorities say parents are not being allowed to pick up their children at this time. Price Middle School is located in southwest Atlanta

    I’m certain that is the NRA just supplied every person at every school in America with a ultiround assault weapon, we’d never have another gun death at a school! Yeah, right.
