House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Tuesday, one day after President Obama’s second inauguration, tried to reassure his fellow Republicans that he would do everything in his power to challenge a “hostile” Obama administration in budget battles yet to come. By hostile, one would think that Obama stated that his goal was to make a Republican, a one term politician.
Business Insider reports:
“So we’re expecting over the next 22 months to be the focus of this Administration as they attempt to annihilate the Republican Party,” Boehner said at a private Ripon Society luncheon, a Republican think tank in Washington. His comments were released on Wednesday.
“And let me just tell you, I do believe that is their goal – to just shove us into the dustbin of history,” Boehner added. “I’ve been in these spots before. I remember November of ’06, January of ’07 — we’ve been through these periods before. And you know, our Members get down, our supporters get down.”
This is hostile:
This is hostile.
As reported here, A highly revealing book, The New New Deal: The Hidden Story of Change in the Obama Era, authored by Michael Grunwald, gives the public a glaring glimpse into the Republican Party’s agenda. New excerpts have been published which highlight the clandestine meeting with Republican leaders in attendance, led by GOP Whip Eric Cantor in 2008. Paul Ryan, the ideological rock star of the right and newly minted veep choice for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, also attended — each swore to obstruct anything, everything the President tries to accomplish — in lockstep, partisan-style. Mitch McConnell attended as well.
GOP, thy name is projection.
