On Fox News Bill O'Reilly says "Jesus Was Killed Over Taxes"

While in a conversation with Marc Lamont Hill, Fox News’ host Bill O’Reilly claimed that Jesus Christ was crucified over taxes. For the record,  the the Bible (not the GOP Bible)  states ‘Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.’

Hill responded, “Do you read the Fox News version of the Bible?”

Why Pilate ordered Jesus to be crucified is debatable however, this is the first time I’ve heard that Pilate ordered His execution because of tax issues. I’m more of the thought that Jesus was killed because of His compassion toward others.  To add to that, He was considered a threat to Rome over His message of a God who brings Justice.

But, in the GOP Bible, it says that Jesus was a Tea Partier.

Big thanks to Media Matters.

John Stewart had it right, it’s Bulls*** Mountain.

Jesus dies because of his claims about the Temple, and about God his father. nothing to do with taxes.

Well, yeah, but I don’t see anything in O’Reilly’s demeanor, his speech, or his private life that makes me think he’s even READ the New Testament. Just like the rest of the wealthy, entitled GOPers. What is baffling is how they have convinced so many poor and lower middle class that Fox and the GOP is on their
side. No wonder they are against education.

Good one Sally! They don’t want anyone educated – sheep are dumb – and O’Reilly’s behavior towards others certainly isn’t indicative toward the love of Jesus or God –

So, because O’Reilly’s taxes went up at the beginning of the year, he thinks we should all feel sorry for him and be afraid.
Hey Bill, you’re still a millionaire.

Is he saying we need to crucify President Obama because of his taxes? What a sick, selfish man. I forgot…we poor people need to pay more so he can live comfortably. Silly me!

Clearly, Republican Jesus can be made to say and do anything that fits the 2013 Agenda.

I have to admit that I haven’t been watching The “History” Channel’s version of THE BIBLE, but I don’t hear a whole lotta complaining from right wing zealots that the entire cast is made up of white anglo-europeans except for Satan who somehow would up looking a lot like President Obama.

To be fair, since The Bible is fiction anyway, it’s not too different from interpreting Batman to look like Adam West and then changing him into Christian Bale later on.

“And they? began to accuse him (Jesus), saying, “We have found this man? (Jesus)? subverting our nation.? He (Jesus) opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.” Luke 23:2.

      Luke 23:2

      King James Version (KJV)

      2 And
they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the
nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself
is Christ a King./ It doesn’t say anything about taxes in this verse

      • Orlando Fernandez

“forbidding to give tribute to Caesar” sounds like opposing taxes to me.

O’Reilly is just one of the talking heads guarding the inhabitants of Bullsh*t Mountain from rejoining the world of the sane. Fox News is a propaganda machine which dumbs down America by the day through disinformation and their slanted agendas. See their anchors spewing forth feces from their mouths in my visual homage to the network on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-fox-news-scylla-guardian-of-bullsht.html
