Tea Party Nation: Boston Marathon bombings Occurred Because Obama Admin "isn't willing to destroy radical Islam"

Judson Phillips, head of Tea Party Nation sent out a mass email to members today claiming that the Boston marathon bombing occurred because “we have a government that is not committed to protecting America” since it isn’t willing to “destroy radical Islam.” In fact, Judson went as far as to disparage non-radical Islamic nations.  Since the bombings, a witch hunt perpetrated by the right wing is out in force.

To be fair, a few leftists have also jumped the gun but not quite to this extreme.

Right Wing Watch reports:

Phillips said that “Radical Islam and perhaps even non-radical Islam” is a danger to western civilization, arguing that Muslims believe that “non-Islamic nations may be conquered or otherwise taken over.”

Unfortunately the sad truth is we will be hit again. It will happen sooner or later. It will probably be sooner than later.

There are two reasons why we will be hit again. First, we have a determined enemy who hates us. Second, we have a government that is not committed to protecting America.

It is a pretty safe bet right now that this attack was carried out by an Islamist. It was a well-coordinated attack. In its publication, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula called for just this kind of attack.

While the government and media have fallen all over themselves to downplay this fact, there is a twenty-year-old Saudi student being detained as a “person of interest.” Person of interest in a nice police term that is used for someone who is not under arrest and therefore does not have to be read his Miranda rights and who hopefully will not lawyer up.

Barack Obama could not force himself to use the word “terrorism” in his speech last night and the FBI right now won’t call this a terrorist incident.

The reason we will be hit again is because our government is not committed to destroying our enemy. Radical Islam is our enemy.

Some in the far end of the Liberty Movement will start screaming about war mongering “Neo-cons.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

We need to first recognize our enemy and then come up with a strategy to destroy them. This is an ideological war. While sometimes that will mean guns and bombs, neither will destroy an ideology.

The values of the west, most of them good, some of them not so good are what will destroy radical Islam. In the west, we fall all over ourselves not to insult Islam.

We can go down the list of things Islam has done to the west. During the height of the Cold War, the Soviets came up with something called the Brezhnev doctrine. It said, “What’s ours is ours. What is yours is negotiable.” Radical Islam and perhaps even non-radical Islam holds to the same belief.

They believe that once a nation becomes Islamic it cannot have Islam removed from it. However, non-Islamic nations may be conquered or otherwise taken over.

Reagan knew that America had to stand up to the Communist threat. Bill Clinton wanted to ignore the Islamist threat. George W. Bush just wanted to hold the hand of the Saudi king and Barack Obama just wants to bow to him. As we mourn the victims of Boston, we need to make a solemn vow that we will not allow this to happen again.

The only way we make sure this never happens again is to identify our enemy and then craft a strategy to totally defeat that enemy.

Judson, do you talk to your mother with that mouth?

I wasn’t aware that we knew who did it or why yet. Unless we’re willing to send a rifle squad into every miserable dirt village into half of Asia and Africa and set the entire world on fire, I don’t think we’re going to be able to destroy radical Islam. Our major efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan have created more radicals than they’ve destroyed.

    • http://twitter.com/paulzink Paul Zink

Your awareness is correct: no one knows who was behind the bombs at this point. But that won’t stop demagogues from spouting their hatred.

I don’t think I have ever read a more deplorable piece of trash in my life.

I have no doubt the Republican crooked lying party is involved with these attacks! Arrest them! They are executing plans to take advantage of this tragedy that have obviously been in place for some time, including trying to sneak through a new tax break for the wealthy in the House of Representatives. And if they used Middle East insurgents to carry out these attacks, that would also be par for the course.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Stephanie2410 Stephanie PhDiva Miller

    Judson Phillips….STFU!

  • Kathy KBL

This creep really needs to be bitch slapped. Everyone can take a number and the line starts behind me.

No no, me first, me first! On second thought, best not: I wouldn’t leave much for anyone following me.…

  • http://www.facebook.com/dam.spahn Dam Spahn

Remember the OK City bombing, how right-wing chicken hawks said we should nuke the Middle East? This smells more like a tax protester, and some early misdirection. Especially since no one has taken credit.

      • Ray

I think your absolutely right Wendi. Then when the right wing nuts find that out, it’ll still be OBAMA’S fault for driving him to do it with gun control. I’ve quit talking to some of my family because EVERYTHING IS OBAMA’S FAULT!

        You can’t fix stupid!

  • DaddyO_969

I guess he forgives the Bush administration for 911, since the Clinton folks told the Bush folks it was coming and yet, 911 happened. Then Bush went after Saddam, when Iraq had NOTHING to do with 911, but that must be OK too, because Bush is an idiot who misled the country into war, which of course, these Neo-cons love. Great chance to make money on the death of servicemen (Halliburton). Maybe, NOT rushing to judgement would be a good thing here, since we don’t know who did this or why. It could even be a white male Christian, a la Timothy McVay, or doesn’t that count, either? A ‘person of interest’ is NOT as described. This guy is a complete piece of S%*T. A person of interest is someone sought by law enforcement for information and questioning. They are not at the level of a suspect and so, not under arrest, though they can walk at any time and get a lawyer. Which, by the way is GUARANTEED by the Constitution, which you so proudly defend. Well, parts of it anyway. Just not the parts that are inconvenient for you. And finally, DESTROY? How would you do that, Mr Know it all?? Will you go and take up arms or send your sons and daughters? Nope, didn’t think so. That would ruin the lies um, lines of your suit.

    • cconover1

I like your post, but a lawyer is no longer guaranteed despite the Constitution. The Patriot Act which Bush first signed and Obama later re-signed removes those rights as well as Habeas Corpus. They only need to describe the suspect as a “terrorist” and the accused no longer has any rights at all.

Whether we like it or not, the terrorist activities are going in both directions. If the attack in Boston is terrorist, then we should take a look at the drone attacks the U.S. is carrying out, cause untold numbers of deaths to innocent Pakistani and Afghani families who want to just get on with the next day.

  • http://www.facebook.com/josephrgazaille Joe Gazaille

No one knows for sure if it was a foreign attack, The Oklahoma bombing was a domestic terror act so why couldn’t this be one….Every fricken Republican just tries to put the blame on Obama for everything…I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an act carried out for the Tea Party just so they could put the blame on Obama!!!

    • Sherrie

It’s okay when Obama plays the blame game when it came to what he inherited, but dare anyone blame the idiot running our country for anything…..All he knows how to do is ban everything…Cause we know that the more you ban in our free society…the better off we all are (bullshit)…Leftest want this to be the free society and change everything in the constitution yet they don’t want the free part to apply to law abiding citizens and their assault rifles!!!!! Oh here’s a thought…. Instead pf protecting the criminals against law abiding citizens, how bout this?????? How bout protecting the law abiding citizens from the mentally ill and terrorist….Now that is a thought, that I’m sure did not come across the isle and meet up with Tomey and Manchin. Those two Depublican and Republicat need to revisit the whole issue and come up with us in mind not their upcoming elections!

It is just easier for these brainless boobs to blame Obama and Muslims. The right wingers are as nutty as fundie Muslims. Fundie “christian” or muslim they are one as dangerous as the other.

As a Republican, and an occassional supporter of Tea Party ideas, I feel you guys are just plain stupid this time. You don’t know yet who did this. It has all the characteristics of a home grown bomber, like the Olympic Park bombing or Oklahoma City. Stop making things like this political. I am quickly getting tired of Tea Party rhetoric. We need another party to step up in your place called the Common Sense Party. At the very least, WAIT until we have a suspect before making an ass of conservatism.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ramell.a.smith Ramell A. Smith

I agree with your sentiment. Some things should be beyound politics.

    • Sally

Good post, but I think they have already made asses of conservatism with their loaded rifles on city streets, their mis-spelled signs , and their demands for lower taxes when we are already at 1950’s lows, and it’s costing us jobs.

  • Thom

If Judson Phillips is so sure of his accusation, then he should be investigated as the person behind the bombings.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jill.grayson.58 Jill Grayson

I actually think it was a radical right wing nut like this who did it so that he could spew nonsense like this. Or, my first thought was that it was some NRA whack job who did it to support the argument that random acts of terror and violence can occur without guns. Either way, I have been listening to the reports about this for the last 24 hours and have not heard any evidence that this was done by Muslims, radical or otherwise. People like this are an embarrassment to our country. It’s not just that they ignore the idea of innocent until proven guilty. They believe in racial profiling, not just as a starting point to investigation, but, as the investigation. Judson should shut his mouth until he has something intelligent to say…

This man and his Tea Party followers are seriously demented. In the midst of tragedy, true character is revealed. Those with integrity and compassion act to help the victims. “To be fair, a few leftists have also jumped the gun but not quite to this extreme.”

This is always the false equivalence thing. Sure, a few on the left have made such an insinuation. But a) no one said, This happened because the head of the Tea Party had done (or failed to do) X and b) no one anywhere nearly this high up in the echelons on power on the left said any such thing. If the head of the Democratic Party said such a thing, that would be quite a different matter.

So, no, it’s nowhere near the same thing.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ramell.a.smith Ramell A. Smith

  • http://www.facebook.com/Santayarwood Kim James Yarwood

Judson Phillips must believe that every person that is not a god-fearing AMERICAN-BORN Christian should be eliminated from LIFE on planet Earth. What would JESUS Think! Mr. P., that’s going to take a lot of pricey semi-automatic weapons and tons of ammo to remove 5-6 BILLION people who practice other religions and philosophies. Your thinking is PARANOIDAL, come on, exterminating human beings living in those struggling 3rd world countries….much of whom are only average hard working people like most of us, trying to feed their families….sounds like 1939.

  • http://www.facebook.com/stevegrogger Steven Goodman

You thouight UKIP was a problem….I used to like a good cup of tea….too many ignorant people with no real knowledge of what we are faced with…that’s the problem the world over. There’s been no proof that this act of violence was carried out by Islamic radicals…Don’t forget there are those who want to promote a backlash against muslims, who have just as much to gain from carrying out these atrocities themselves as any Islamic fundamentalist has. The problem is that the QUran is split into two books, separated by time and differing political enviroment. The first book was written when Mohammed was living in Mecca… and is philosophical in content and the later book, is loosely known as “swords”. Which advocates Jihad…At this time Mohammed was the head of a city state and had a political need to rally the support of all muslims to protect his power-base from the forces who would try and depose his rule. Fundamentalists largely claim that the second book is an addmenmant to the first and as the more recent text takes presidence over the book written in Mecca. Now I am not religious but I think what you have here is two distinct volumes…one for a time of peace and another for a time of war and political intrigue. Radical clerics in my opinion have their own political adgenda in mind when they claim to speak for Mohamed and Alla. My thoughts are that each volume of the quran is valid when viewed in context and compared to the early global situation that existed in city states of the mediterainian and north African lands.

At the moment there are two distinct factions in the Muslim world – The Modernisers and the personality cults who like our political fundamentalists hark back to an early eutopia (Which in the case of the hard right is a place in time that never really existed inactuality its a romantacised view of by gone days). There is an element of racism to be added into the mix, which is effectively being demonstrated as the sectarian violence in Iraq…

The situation in this quasi-religious/political world is going through change and there are those who will resist such change and others who want room for idealogical and personal growth. It certainly is an interesting time to live through.

Anyway my thoughts go out to the victims of the Boston bombings… who ever carried out the attack….it was vicious and nasty….
