Authorities in Ohio today released a dash-cam video of a man firing on police officers, in rapid fire in what initially was just a routine traffic stop, which resulted in the man’s death.
Among the items discovered in the shooter’s car, the police found eight, 40-round magazines for the AK-47 along with a number of books and magazines about militias and terrorism.
Police said on Friday that they still do not know why the shooter, 42 year-old James Gilkerson, suddenly jumped out his car and began firing at Middlefield policeofficers in Ohio, who had pulled him over after he had run a stop sign. However, the items found in the shooter’s car, might have been his motive for resisting (my opinion, not the police department’s).
The incident occurred in March however, this graphic footage was just released showing the bizarre moment — which is at about the 1.57 mark — when the shooter cracked his car door only to begin blasting 37 shots at the squad car.
The officers returned fire and killed Gilkerson.

Cleveland.com reports, “Police showed the dash cam video of the shootout during a news conference. They also distributed a statement from the Lake County prosecutor saying the shooting by police was justified and the matter would not be taken to a grand jury.”
