Christian Pastor, “The govt should use the death penalty on homosexuals” and “It’s wrong for a wife to refuse sex”

Fundamentalist Pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, appeared on an Irish radio show, apparently to make Fundies in American look even worse than the public perceives them to be. There’s over an hour’s worth of dialogue and Patheos.com points out the highlights., which include, .”It is wrong for a wife to refuse sex to her husband. That statement is only trumped by a call for death, “I believe that the government should use the death penalty on murderers, rapists, homosexuals.” Mr. Pastor guy goes on to say that he listens to his wife’s opinion, then tells her what to do. Anderson has fathered seven children.

He wants to kill the FABULOUS people.

This sociopath wants to kill the FABULOUS people.

Via Patheos:

17:50: Anderson talks about the social order in his household.

39:05: Someone asks what the pastor would do if he came home, wanted sex, and his wife said no.

51:00: The host asks Anderson what he thinks about homosexuality.

1:04:16: After the host blasts Anderson for taking the Bible too literally.

:

That last one’s followed by a hilarious debate on Creationism during which Anderson claims that finding fossils of dinosaurs proves the Bible is true because dinosaurs appear in the Bible…

Since you’ve been brave enough to listen, we will be handing out free virtual aspirin at the exit. Please stand in single file. Thank you!

Coerced sex is still rape, isn’t it? Aren’t there court cases in the US that make forced marital sex a crime? This guy’s not 60 or 70 years old, either. He’s not from a previous generation where these ‘ideas’ were more prevalent. This is so sad. In the 21st Century there are still people who think this way.
