It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Zimmer Man! But his reported rescue of the car crash seems to be falling to pieces

Less than one mile from where George Zimmerman killed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin, a new debate has erupted after a reported car crash involving an SUV carrying 4 family members flipped over and ‘George’ as Juror B37 fondly calls him, put on his Superhero cape, then came out of hiding — miraculously he happened to be at the right time and right place — to save the trapped family.  The responding officer who to went to the scene also happens to be a vocal George Zimmerman supporter on his Facebook account: Patrick Rehder.

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Zimmer Man!

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Zimmer Man!

Stay with me here, because the story gets really interesting.

Newsball.com reports:

Late Monday afternoon, we obtained the sheriff’s accident report which states there was an incident last Wednesday. The report identifies the adults in the flipped vehicle as a white couple with unnamed kids. The driver is Mark C. Gerstle, a pharmacist (his registered pharmacist details) & a native of Buffalo N.Y., & the woman is Dana Michelle Muffoletto Gerstle, a native of Daytona Beach, Fla. They live in Port Orange, Florida.

The 911 call:

Newsball continues, “The plot thickens as there is NO mention of Officer Rehder meeting George Zimmerman at the crash scene anywhere on his facebook, despite the July 17th incident being sandwiched in between continual support of George Zimmerman both before, & from the aftermath of the trial.”

Who else did not mention the accident? The people involved in the accident. Also, there are no pictures or videos of said accident. And the mother involved in the supposed crash deleted her Facebook page after being asked about the authenticity of the incident.

NewsBall.com reports further:

Longtime supporter (& one source still being investigated by NB is claiming friend) of George Zimmerman, Officer Patrick Rehder’s cell phone records reveal a text or call to George Zimmerman right after the 5:47 PM crash was called in. This tipped Zimmerman off to the car crash accident & to get there to assist the family before Officer Rehder arrived. Zimmerman, still hiding out in the same neighborhood that he killed Trayvon Martin in, was less then a mile away to jump into action & be a hero with his passive aggressive approach KNOWING that his name on the police report would eventually be made public. We didn’t give Zimmerman enough credit – he had a larger role in orchestrating this then we thought was possible.

..

The family isn’t talking, but Sanford Police Capt. Jim McAuliffe told reporters that Zimmerman, 29, was identified by Mark Gerstle as the man who pulled him from the mangled vehicle last week. “George Zimmerman pulled me out,” firefighters were told.

The sheriff’s stated that the driver & passenger have expressed they are not interested in speaking with the media about this incident. They also never talked about it on their facebook walls. Nor did their family members. Nor did the responding office. Despite lots of talk of Zimmerman before & after the incident. & no pictures exist of the crash.

Neither Mark or Dana Gerstle had a comment to NewsBall by the time of this publication.

UPDATE 7/23: Instead of a response from either parent from the emails we sent them, Dana Gerstle’s facebook has suddenly disappeared a day after we took all of her pictures from it:https://www.facebook.com/dana.muffolettogerstle/photos, but her brother Joey Muffoletto & sister Angel Muffoletto Thurlow still remain on facebook – never mentioning anything about their sister’s car accident on their walls.

Let’s say that ‘George’ did rescue a family of four. Why couldn’t he defend himself against a 17 year-old during a fight? I’d love to see the insurance reports and pictures of the accident in question.

Mark Gerstle the driver involved in the alleged accident, refuses to speak of the dynamic rescue by Zimmer Man.

Using Internet vernacular, pics or it didn’t happen.

Images from the cop’s Facebook page can be seen here.

NewsBall.com has a very detailed report here.

I just read this story this morning. There are so many things wrong with the flow of information (or lack thereof) about the actual details of what allegedly happened that were fed to a national media still hungry from the trial for anything to report. Everything that came out Monday and Tuesday was the same four sentences from what looked like a press release from the Sheriff’s Department. No corroboration. No witnesses, no photos, no video, nothing.

    • jrleftfoot

      no wrecked car , either

  • lovesabq

Of course this is fake. Is anybody really shocked by this news?

  • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

I’m surprised – clearly I am too clueless. Honestly it had not occurred to me that someone would make this shit up.

  • paddles57

Did you mean to say “white couple with unarmed kids”?

  • jelun

Why is there no signature on the accident report?

  • Diane Perry

As others said – this story has got to be utter bullshit but if there is a grain of truth to it, any officer who reaches out to a civilian as a ‘first responder’ deserves to get fired.

    ‘It’s a turd! It’s a stain! It’s Zimmer Man!

  • JSB3

    So faked….

  • BigWhiteDog

“Why couldn’t he defend himself against a 17 year-old during a fight?” Hyperbole. One has nothing to do with the other.

    • ShroudedSciuridae

I disagree. If you’re strong enough to pull a grown man from an SUV, you’re strong enough to push a child off of you.

      • Roderick2011

Especially when the adult has a gun, a year of MMA training and a 50 lb weight advantage over the skinny unarmed teen.

    • NatTurner1

Because he was stalking the person he was supposed to defend himself from. Its like saying, why cant a rapist defend them self from a woman he is trying to rape that knows how to kick-box?

  • Name

Can you please stop using the word “then” when it should be “than”?!!!! And you’re supposed to be a legitimate news source????

    • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

Sorry but I believe you’re mistaken. ‘Then’ is used appropriately.

      • Name

        “less then a mile away”
“he had a larger role in orchestrating this then we thought was possible”
“then” should be “than” in both of these quotes. No, you’re wrong. I am right.

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

It says *than. Not less *then.

          • Name

Uh, no it doesn’t. I copied and pasted those two quotes. You might want to go back and read it again. I think the story is interesting but I hate when there are stupid mistakes like this, and not just once.

THEN look again. You are mistaken (again).

          • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Speaking of stupid mistakes, Name… Now read my lips: Those two mistakes are from the original source. Anomaly simply copied/pasted their article excerpts. How hard is this?

Let’s recap: YOU copied/pasted the SAME 2 quotes that Anomaly copied/pasted from a SEPARATE (THE ORIGINAL) SOURCE. Clear? Good for you! Wanna cookie?

        • KatieAnnieOakley

YOU are trying to distract from and redirect the conversation. Piss off!

So there – and their and they’re!

          • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

            LOL!!!!

          • Name

It just amazes me that a person could presumably get a college degree, become a reporter for a news publication and absolutely not know the difference between then and than. On another note, George Zimmerman is full of shit and a murderer. When our side shows grammar and spelling ignorance it makes us look as dumb and uneducated as the Tea Partiers. I want our side to show basic intelligence. That’s all.

          • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Name, it just amazes me that, after my very clear comment to you, you could presumably continue to insist that Anomaly is a reporter for a news publication. Try reading before you start writing.

Your own ignorance is simply astounding, and you make yourSELF look as dumb and uneducated as the Tea Partiers.

If you’re interested in showing basic intelligence, stop commenting.

          • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

I don’t think “Name” understands very much.

I am not a ‘reporter’ and I started this site. He or she came here with lies to my site.
I am happy to fix typos and I mention that on the ‘about’ page. This site keeps me extremely busy so I make occasional mistakes, which our readers politely point out to me.
But he or she is wrong so I need to ban this tea partier and his lying ass in 3…2…

          • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

Listen, you are not welcome here. You’re lying through your teeth. I did not admit to that error or can’t you read?

          • KatieAnnieOakley

It’s a DIRECT QUOTE of a story from the other website – its correct.

        • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

You do realize those are from the NewsBall.com article, right Name? Not Anomaly? She’s QUOTING. That’s why it appears in a “blockquote,” italicized. Do you not understand that she can’t change that?

And Anomaly is a VERY legit news source… a commentator, actually. She’s not a reporter, she posts stories and comments on them from other sources. Back off.

    • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

“put on his Superhero cape, then came out of hiding”… Um, that is correct. Then = “the next thing that occurred…” “Than” doesn’t mean that, so Anomaly made no error. Did I miss something here?

      • Name

Yes, you are missing something. Keep reading.
        Y

        • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

I did. I realize what’s missing: Your intelligence and ability to process what we’re saying. It must be humbling to be wrong on so many levels.

    • cannedam

It is quoted material in which `then` is used improperly, not the author`s own words.

  • KatieAnnieOakley

Talking the semantics of language with a troll… notice how the real discussion goes further down-thread?

    TROLL.

    • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

      I magically disappeared the troll.

      • KatieAnnieOakley

        I love that kinda magic… ;)

        • BanditBasheert

Me too – I’m sorry I didn’t read it in a way – but I know how incredibly dumb these hicks are. Anyone who falls for Zimmerman being a hero needs a mental exam.

          • KatieAnnieOakley

            Hey! {{{{{ hugs }}}}}

What have you been up to? How have you been? I was thinking of you last night – almost called. Had really strong thoughts. You OK?

          • BanditBasheert

Hi Kao – we R fine.
Call and I’ll fill you in -

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

You were correct. His or her used the deflection of, “Look over there, it’s my other hand!”

Anderson Cooper and most especially ABC should cover this. ABC brought us the edited version of the Benghazi emails and now this.

  • Sedrick Roeshard Gilbert

When I first read and saw reports of the killer Zimmerman, who is supposedly so scared and frightened for his safety and in deep hiding, had turned into a superhero and overnight transformed from killer to bold rescuer, I was suspect of the story. There was no footage, no grandstanding interviews by neither him, his publicity and fame-seeking friends and family…NOTHING. One of the nation biggest liars just wanted the world to take his word for it that this all occurred, I assume to repair his “image” with the public? PATHETIC! This whole situation has the usual bogus stench of pure lies, and if there is one thing Zimmerman does quite well (besides gunning down innocent unarmed teenage boys) is LYING. It’s a family trait. He is too cowardly to be out and about looking to the The Greatest American Hero. If anything, he’s looking for more donations to pay for his own security!

    • BanditBasheert

One more little pesky thing, it made no sense. It was so obvious that the POlice in Sandford (who double for the Keystone Cops in movies) have a lot to defend here. No photos, no statements, no signature on the POlice report? No nothing.
Would the POlice, who look like 3 wheeled idiots to begin with, actually stoop this low to try to bolster their lies and mistakes after the Trayvon Martin killing? Of COURSE they would.
This smells so rotten – it’s amazing the media even fell for it.

    • AKRNC

According to O’Mara, GZ could only go out in a disguise because he was in such fear for his life. He also said that GZ was afraid to live anywhere near his previous rental home because people would easily recognize him yet the accident occurred less than a mile from there. The fact that the officer that responded to the scene is also known to the family has me questioning everything we’ve been told so far. Where was GZ going? Was he alone? If he’s unable to visit his family, I’m surprised he’d be out and about in daylight hours when he could easily been seen. There are far too many coincidences in this story.

  • to0ber

I never bought this from the start. He should have let well enough alone. The fool lied his way out a murder charge, only too be caught in this big lie.

    • BanditBasheert

He’s obvious a serial liar – it would be impossible for him to stop. I’m afraid he will next save a baby from a man eating tiger.

  • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

What a sad little man this murderer is.
And what a corrupt police department Sanford Florida has.

    • BanditBasheert

Ah yes, Police to the neocon core. That’s Sanford FL and they were exposed as the dirty cops they are.

  • o0Nighthawk0o

Nice piece of investigative reporting there. You have about as much proof that this was faked as prosecutors had against Zimmerman. Some source? claims the officer sent a text or call to Zimmerman? Which is it? If the obtained phone records they would show if it was a text or call. There should be NO question. If they do have the phone records they got them illegally and should be prosecuted.

You also seem to think it’s some ‘smoking gun’ that Ms. Gerstle’s Facebook page disappeared. I don’t blame her. The vultures from NewsBall copied every thing from her page KNOWING these people wanted their privacy. I would have done the same.

Knowing the people involved in the accident and Zimmerman wanted this to stay quiet, of course Officer Rehder did not mention it on his Facebook page. It is obvious that, unlike the author and others, he respects people’s wishes.
Amazing that this man can do a good deed and all you people can do is sling hate. No wonder these people don’t want to talk about this.

    • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

Where are the pictures of this horrendous accident?

      • Hank

The Sheriff’s Report, to which you provided a link, plainly states there was a roll over accident. A rollover accident in a van with kids is a pretty serious accident. Are you questioning the authenticity of that report?

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

That department has a dubious past. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/03/trayvon-martin-sanford-racial-history

Again, where are the pictures of the accident?

          • Hank

So, you ARE questioning the authenticity of the report and are suggesting the officer in question filed a fraudulent report??

Sure seems like a huge risk just to try to fake someone into thinking Zimmerman is a good guy.

          • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

            I for one am.
Zimmerman lied his ass off before, so why do you think this stalker and child murderer is suddenly truthful?
And the police took over 40 days to even arrest this killer.

          • Hank

With a mindset like that, I see little need to engage you.

However, I DO find your Avatar a nice self portrait. ;-)

          • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

“I see little need to engage you.” Aww,

KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker you’re not needed by Mr. Pretentious!

          • BanditBasheert

Pretentious overblown gasbag is our Hank. You can always tell when he’s spitting on his keyboard, he goes all Rush and spews invective in every direction.

          • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Oh, he’s a regular? So he enjoys Anomaly’s posts? “Feels the need” to read them and spew? What a fulfilled life he must lead!

          • BanditBasheert

OG yes – he is like some sort of herpes virus – he keeps coming back in spite of the medication. It doesn’t matter what happens, he goes all intellectually spewey and starts gasbagging all over the place to anyone he thinks might listen. Then when you disagree, he pontificates with really large words trying to sound like an intellectual – he’s really just Rush in a short skirt.
I think he dropped out of high school, bought a dictionary and a thesaurus and sits around thinking up drivel he believes sounds smart.
It’s very passive aggressive of him. He likes to attack but he literally runs like a girl if anyone dares to agree with that massive intellect of his.

          • Hank

Thank you for your words of encouragement. To be held in disdain by someone like you is a huge honor.

          • Hank

I just see no need to debate someone whose views on a given subject are so diametrically opposed to my own. If I were pretentious, I’d be trying to force my views.

But thanks for your observation just the same.

          • BanditBasheert

I love I-gor – he has more intelligence, humor and personality than you. Unlike you, he also had talent.

          • Hank

Well looka there!! We found some common ground. I’m tickled!!

          • Cosmic_Surfer

            Great, Hank. Degrading yourself again.

Have you yet to learn that the personal attacks are only making you look bad?

          • Hank

You are kidding me? Right?? I hope???

First, the “Avatar Comment” is a term of endearment compared to what I get on a routine basis and was about 30% intended humor.

As for the mindset remark, read what he says. I think I have made it clear from my comments that he and I are WORLDS apart on how we think and feel about this matter. Therefore, I see little need to engage him in what most assuredly will be a fruitless “discussion”.

I’m sorry, but I have to disagree with you again. (I’m sure I’m wrong.) I simply chose not to engage a “mindset” that is so far, far removed from my own in this matter. I don’t feel I degraded myself. And if you consider the little Avatar remark a personal attack, I’m just not sure what to say.

(You just caused me to stay up later than I meant to!! And please don’t take THAT as a personal attack!! ;-) )

          • BanditBasheert

            You bet we are.
I was on a trial where it was proven the DETECTIVE who wrote the police report LIED on the witness stand. Yes police lie, especially when they look like racist asshats.

          • Hank

Well….I find that a rather far stretch. But if that’s what you believe then that’s what you believe. But you certainly can’t blame this family for hiding.

        • KatieAnnieOakley

“A rollover accident in a van with kids is a pretty serious accident. Yes, it is!

It is (supposedly) a roll-over; that happens when a vehicle is traveling at high-speed.

Were there injuries? You’d think so! What type? How many occupants were injured? Were they treated on-scene, or was anyone transported to a hospital? So – which one? And how’d they get to that hospital: ambulance? Fire department medics?

Or did the occupants refuse / decline treatment? You know – walked away injury free.

After all: “A rollover accident in a van with kids is a pretty serious accident.

          • Hank

I don’t know. And I don’t care. I’m just going by the Sheriff’s Report. I’m not the one hysterically using the “incident” to try and prove or disprove something. I’m just participating in the discussion.

      • o0Nighthawk0o

Because we all know that EVERY accident EVERYWHERE has pictures of it posted on the internet. Get real.

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

I’ve been in a few accidents in my life. There are always pictures from the police and insurance company. Are you suggesting that no one witnessed this accident. There were no passersby on the busy road?

          Get real.

          • o0Nighthawk0o

True. BUT, those pictures from them are NOT normally released to the public.

          • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

For heavens sake, they make television shows with police footage all the time.

          • o0Nighthawk0o

Yes they do. And they have to get waivers and releases signed by anyone in the footage that was not convicted of a crime.

          • BanditBasheert

It’s an accident case – anyone could have filmed and photographed it.

          • Kenny

The accident never happened. The police and Zimmerman made it all up.

          • BanditBasheert

All police photos are a matter of public record.

          • Cosmic_Surfer

Nope – not at all because there was no one involved of note, right? If Zimmerman was involved, there would have been a picture sold, found or recorded – on a cell phone if nothing else. Time to wake up. It is the 21st century and most people have them photo telephone machine thangs.

        • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

Sills and video from the police dash cams.

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

Exactly. And there will be no pictures of what did not happen.

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

You said: “Amazing that this man can do a good deed”……
      1. Any person would have stopped and offered assistance, but they’re not stalkers and murderers running around free.
      2. This looks very much like a staged operation involving Killerman and his buddies at the Sanford Police Department.

    • JnK8288

Actually… He posted a direct link on his Facebook page, drawing attention to the situation… That is not what an officer is supposed to do…

  • Hank

Are none of you concerned with “NewsBall” invading this couple’s personal Facebook page and plastering pictures of the family and their children all over the internet??

Are you REALLY that desperate to somehow, someway “get back” at Zimmerman because of YOUR view and opinion of what transpired, regardless the judicial process that found him (rightfully in my opinion) innocent?

    • BanditBasheert

Nope – I could watch a car run him down and hit “replay” – sometimes Karma just gotta bite.

      • Hank

Wow!! Aren’t we the tolerant and understanding lot??

    • ReelStuff

The thing about Facebook is that no One has to “invade” it. It is a World Wide Website. Wow! Get a clue Hank.

    • ReelStuff

The thing is, Hank; facebook is a World Wide Website. No one has to “invade” anyone’s account. Jeeze! Get a clue.

      • Hank

That may be true. But it’s a feeble argument to say posting pictures of this couple’s children in this context and on this venue was the right thing to do.

    • Rachel Kantstopdaphunk

oh yeah he’s suuuuper innocent. mmmm hmm. he’s so effing innocent that the judge had to ban the word race from the courtroom… riddle me this? if he were so innocent don’t you think he could stand to HEAR the entirety of the accusation?

      • Hank

Just as well as they could stand to hear the entirety of Martin’s behavior and character or lack thereof?? You ARE aware there was a pretty exhaustive investigation by the F.B.I. that turned up NO evidence of “racism”? That is unless of course, the F.B.I. is in on this conspiracy also!! :-)

      • Godzilla11

The accusations of “racism” were manufactured by the media. Plain and simple. You took the bait, and are therefore a sheep. Look at the facts, they show media manipulation to rile crazies up with a race frenzy. No evidence suggests Zimmerman is a racist, only evidence otherwise. It’s not right to kill anybody unless it’s a matter of life and death to you, as well it’s not right to accuse and manufacture people into being things they very well may not be.

    • KatieAnnieOakley

That was their PUBLIC page. Period.

      IF it truly was Zimmerman…
IF they had a brain in their collective heads…
They should have made their FB private…

      • Hank

Perhaps, unlike some of us, they didn’t understand the unreasonable, vitriolic hatred of some people.

    • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

if their facebook page was private, and viewed by the public, it is fair game. Once a pic is on the internet, it is out there, as every high school girl realizes after she regrets that titty shot to her boyfriend’s phone.

      • Hank

That’s okay if you feel that way…….I guess. But if you think it is perfectly okay for a Mickey Mouse, hateful little website like this to paste pictures of a person’s children all over the internet in this particular context and with all the vitriol and hatred being spewed and vomited out by racist haters in denial of the proper application of our judicial system, then we fundamentally disagree as human beings.

  • Hank

I noticed “NewsBall” proudly proclaims, “Not a single picture is being shown on any news outlet. Only here”….and then “proudly” proceeds to plaster pictures of this couple and their children all over the internet.

I “proudly” suggest that no self respecting news source would be so oblivious to the possible danger they placed these children in. This is very unprofessional conduct.

    • BanditBasheert

Who made you the internet police?
The Zimmer Man is more dangerous to everyone’s children than anyone who sees this story is. He hunts down and kills unarmed children because he is afraid.

      • o0Nighthawk0o

I was going to reply to some of your posts below but I can see that facts, logic and common sense would be lost on you.

      • Hank

I’m not the Internet Police. You should feel lucky I’m not!! ;-)

I just made a common sense observation.

    • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

why would a family, unconnected to Zimmerman before the crash, be in danger? Unless they are GM supporters/accident stagers.

      • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

Hell, if Zimmerman didn’t kill them, they will survive Florida.

        • Hank

Right!! After all, he’s killed so many.

          • Tammy Minton Haley

            one’s enough, dipshit…

      • Hank

Heck!! Don’t ask me to explain the actions of you haters!!

        • Michael Cruise

I still have seen no evidence that the family has received threats…just that they fear backlash. Much ado about nothing.

      • Michael Cruise

They wouldn’t and this is just further evidence consider when looking at possible motives.

    • Michael Cruise

That is perhaps true but the parents did not use the available privacy tools to keep photos of their own children private. They’d posted the photos an comments publicly.

    • Tammy Minton Haley

newsball is a lot like the honey badger…they just don’t care…

      they have balls–news balls…get it?

  • BanditBasheert

Yup – I blame them. They’re in it up to their eyeballs. Once you actually leave Florida, sometimes good sense takes over. The people in Idiotville Sanford may buy it, but we don’t. It smells and it smelled from the first second the media put it out.

    • Hank

That doesn’t make sense. I suspect you know it doesn’t. They have every right and cause to fear for their safety and the safety of their children. The left has proven if they are nothing else, they are sore and vindictive losers.

What an asshole web site…you people are scum…and those of you that don’t respect the jury verdict and haven’t checked this story out thoroughly…And I’m talking about the Martin death…you’re dirt bags….Trayvon Martin was a thug punk…still a tragedy but he was a punk…and if he wasn’t a punk he’d be alive…GFY!!

Question: Don’t police reports NORMALLY list EVERYONE that occupied the vehicle?

Like – the kids in the back seat?

So, where’s the documenting of kids being in the vehicle? Or are we going on somebody’s word?

          • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

          • Michael Cruise

True but that shouldn’t matter. Where there are accidents, there are also insurance claims and insurance companies that are quite particular about having all the specifics .

The family he rescued is already getting death threats. Nice job dildos.

So you have experience with dildos do you? And yes, this site has so much power that Anomaly can single-handedly cause that to happen. Let us know when your IQ kicks in, genius.

      • dcdrew8171

accepting the truth is as far away as you can get.

    • MistyDew

Ok, there should be hospital records where the family was treated?

    • Michael Cruise

There have been no reports coming from law enforcement that even suggest that this family has received threats. In fact, all I’ve seen and/or heard thus far is that the family is fearful that they might experience some backlash from some people. In other words, their fears are based on things that have not yet happened rather than on things that have actually happened already. That’s quite a bit like what happened with Zimmerman on the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin…he reacted based on what he thought Martin might do or be capable of doing rather than on what Martin was actually doing that night which was behaving lawfully. He acted entirely based on his suspicions and now this family is doing a bit of crying wolf over things that have not happened. To be clear, no one thrust this family into the media spotlight. Rather, this family agreed to and helped arrange a nationally televised interview/thank you event and had planned to conduct it from within the law offices of Zimmerman’s own criminal legal defense team. If anything, they’ve increased the volume surrounding Zimmerman and this case. They can put an end to this if they so choose. They are not victims in this.

      • JnK8288

I just wonder why there wasn’t one eyewitness… For it to happen in the area that is it is said to have happened in… There should have been a bit of traffic… Plus, the time should allotted for heavier traffic…

It’s all BS…..It was all made up by the supposed officer that took the report and by the supposed family that had the supposed accident. Gimme a break. There would be pics and/or videos. But, of course there wasn’t. And they didn’t want to have a press conference with O’Mara. He probably paid them off.

    • KatieAnnieOakley

Another thing: normally police reports state how many number of persons are transported to a hospital OR if the occupant(s) refused treatment. I’m still stuck on the kids: where are the kids on the report?

      • Michael Cruise

Take a look at the Newsball website pieces on this story. There are a few photos that are particularly interesting. One photo that was screen captured Officer Rehder’s Facebook profile is of Rehder posing with a man and an infant boy. The photo looks to be maybe a couple of years old. Also on the Newsball website are screenshots of photos that were posted on the Gestle family’s Facebook profile before it was deleted. The Gestles are the family involved in the single car accident that is the subject of this thread. The curious thing about these photos is the little boy that is in each of the photos posted on the Newsball website. Though the boy is an infant approaching toddler stage in one photo, you can clearly see that it is the same boy in each of the photos…just a little older in some photos. What this means is that Officer Rehder has some kind of personal relationship with the Gestle family and may even be related to them. What is also clear is that Officer Rehder has been a vocal supporter of Zimmerman for at least a year and in a very unprofessional manner. It also seems quite possible that Zimmerman already knew Officer Rehder on a personal level and the two may have been/might still be friends. Those possibilities (some would say likelihoods) raises a lot of questions about the accident, how it happened, who was involved and how the subsequent reporting of the accident and all parties involved was unfolded for public consumption.

It raises some red flags and reasonably so. I am not someone that buys into conspiracy theories, though I know such things do happen and have always happened throughout history. At this point, there needs to be full disclosure forthcoming from all those parties involved in this matter. Silence is no longer a reasonable expectation.

        • KatieAnnieOakley

Only very select people, believed the story of Zimmerman’s heroic act, when it was posted. There is nothing that he and others can do. That would change what he did. He killed an innocent teenager. That is a fact, that her is going to have to live with, for the rest of his lying life.

  • dcdrew8171

    From NewsBall:

    • Lenfb

      Wrong!

  • HarukoHaruhara

I thought the whole story was bloody suspicious to begin with. I think George is the reincarnation of Travis Bickle.

      or Rupert Pupkin

  • jjdoe

Personally, I don’t believe all of GZ’s story, and likely wouldn’t believe TM’s, either, if he had lived to tell his tale. Neither one was a ‘hero’ that night! But are you people saying someone staged this accident, so GZ could play the hero? That’s nuts. The family likely doesn’t want to be seen with someone like GZ, as the headlines say. They are afraid of the wrath of the TM supporters. That says a lot about this self-righteous group.
Yeah, I don’t fully agree with the Travon side. So of course, this makes me a racist nazi. Such narrow minded brilliance…

    • KatieAnnieOakley

Someone will be getting a photograph of the vehicle from Miranda’s Towing lot any second now…

COMPREHENSION CHECK: No fire is mentioned in the police report – but Georgie said FIRE… burning vehicle….

      • Hank

I didn’t see where Zimmerman said anything.

      • Godzilla11

Zimmerman hasn’t said a word on this. Just like the trial, the public doesn’t care about facts, they have their prejudices and they’re stickin to em ignorantly. All sides.

        • Michael Cruise

Zimmerman did not testify at his trial but he’d given interviews to law enforcement and one given on national television during prime time viewing hours. His various accounts of what transpired that evening are contradictory at best and misleading or wholly dishonest in all likelihood.

      • Michael Cruise

I noticed that the accident report describes the vehicle’s damage as “Moderate”. Police officers are trained in how to properly write up a accident report with some specificity because it is necessary to making a determination about liability and because insurance companies use it in evaluating claims made on insurance policies. Using the word “moderate” to describe the vehicle’s level of damage is actually pretty revealing and gives me good reason to believe that this family was in no real danger and that it was not a severe accident, after all.

        • KatieAnnieOakley

Exactly – I noticed that too.

Another thing: no kids are mentioned on the Traffic Accident Report… they’re supposed to list EVERYONE in the car. I think the driver of the Explorer “rolled over” and tipped onto its side, but the accident was not a true “rollover” in the sense of what we see on TV or at the movies, a barrel-roll that rolls, and rolls. A true barrel-roll rollover is a TOTAL – and would say so on the Accident Report, because the structural integrity of the vehicle is lost when a car lands on its roof… unless it has roll bars.

The accident is real; the severity we can judge by the Accident Report; everything else is PR for Georgie. And the poor family that was “saved” got sucked into Team Georgie’s Rehabilitation Plan, whether they liked it or not.

          • Michael Cruise

It is standard operating procedure for law enforcement to identify all occupants of any and all vehicles involved in such an accident. I’ve never before seen one where that information was not included. This is a first.

      • Lenfb

        Really?
I guess you didn’t listen to the 911 calls then. Some of the callers reported smoke and a possible fire.
Now if it was put out before the police arrived there would be no report of a fire.

    • klhayes

No one said the accident was staged…it is saying his supporter called him to the scene and staged his “heroic act”

    • Michael Cruise

And those who think Zimmerman guilty are afraid of Zimmerman and his family. See how that works?

    • Tammy Minton Haley

no one says the accident was staged…idiot

  • Hank

That was a part of the Defense’s case. These children, actually this couple….the whole family have nothing to do with this case. It’s just a hateful act.

    • JnK8288

Not actually hateful… The couple put themselves and their children out there in the public view… They could have kept quiet, sent the “hero”, a thank you card, and kept it moving… No need to draw attention to yourselves by arranging for a press conference, with Zimmerman’s lawyers and backing out… Of course, that is going to cause the media… No matter how small or big the network, to go into a feeding frenzy!!! I don’t support the children’s pics being posted… But, I do not support faking or lying for someone that feels the need to always have attention drawn to any good deed he may do… I picked up a card that was dropped by elderly woman and handed it back to her the other day… I didn’t setup a press conference to announce my random act of kindness…

      • Hank

Wasn’t it the Police Officer that made this public?? That is my understanding. No matter, this “News Outlet” should have exercised restraint in posting pictures of the children.

        • JnK8288

Actually, the story blew up when they backed out of the press conference they had scheduled to speak at… People were waiting for them to step out and glorify Zimmerman… As far as the police report… Of course it is public… It is just as public as what you are willing to share on your social pages on the internet… If I don’t want people in my business or questioning me… I don’t post… And I keep my pages private, so, everyone and their mother cannot come by and have a peek… By having kids… It makes me me cautious at how I approach things and what I post…

  • KatieAnnieOakley

Oh, now you’re gonna confuse him with COMMON SENSE.

  • KatieAnnieOakley

Story updated at NewsBall: the mom has a twitter account and tweeted ONE TWEET about the accident on July 18th.

    • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

I don’t see the Mom but I see the cop bemoaning welfare recipients, then deleting his Twitter account. It’s early though and I could be seeing double.

  • Godzilla11

The reason this family isn’t posting about this incident (if it is real at all) could be because racist whacko’s want to kill Zimmerman along with anyone he looks at. Funny how there’s more evidence suggesting he had to protect himself from near death than there is he is a “racist”…. oh wait, there’s absolutely no evidence that he’s a racist, other than racists who race bait this story. The fact that they make him out to be “white” when he’s a Latino is proof right there.

    • Keith D.

Umm. Have you never filled out a demographic survey? Latino isn’t a race, it’s an ethnicity. Latino people can be white, black, or even Asian. Zimmerman is a white Latino. Words mean things.

      • Katrina Nation

Hmmmm his mother is Peruvian with a black ancestral relative I believe.

        • shorty5704

          His father is white.
Everyone has a Black ancestral relative; even you.
Peruvian is not a race. Hispanic is not a race. Latino is not a race.
          Geez!

          • Katrina Nation

murder and death by justifiable homicide are two different animals. A jury followed the law, as did Zimmerman. The only clear lawbreaker here was Trayvon Martin by atacking Zimmerman. Why can’t the feeble minded comprehend that?

          • Katrina Nation

You may not like that truth, but it is in fact, the truth. In this society its the law that matters, Zimmerman did not break the law, he was within the law, Trayvon Martin was not. I understand its hard to stomach because we have a dead teenager and it feels like there is no justice BUT had Trayvon NOT attacked and Zimmerman killed him, then we have a case.

          • Keith D.

Wait. You’re claiming that Zimmerman didn’t break the law by virtue of having been found not guilty by a jury, yet you claim that Martin broke the law by virtue of… the testimony of the man who killed him and needed him to be guilty of breaking the law in order to not be held accountable for taking his life?

What jury convicted Martin of breaking the law? That’s a bit of a double standard, don’t you think?

          • Katrina Nation

He assaulted Zimmerman. That’s proven. That’s illegal. I too wish he was alive today but for the bad choices Trayvon made. Zimmerman did not break the law, sorry, those are the facts and you can’t change them.

          • Katrina Nation

witnesses placed Martin pounding on Zimmerman or you’d rather forget that fact eh?

        • czarney

The Human Genome project discovered that everyone has genetic markers indicating that we all came from the same place…Africa. That means you, I, george zimmerman and Trayvon Martin’s ancestors all originated from Africa, we are all black.

          • ShroudedSciuridae

Maybe. While we know about the common African ancestry, we don’t know if dark skin was a common feature which other branches lost, or if it was a mutation those who stayed in Africa developed at a later time.

          • facefault

Actually, we do know. All humans originally had dark skin. Light skin evolved separately twice, via the MC1R gene in Europeans and the OCA2 gene in East Asians.

          • ShroudedSciuridae

            Ah, thank you. ????

          • czarney

            Thank you.

          • Katrina Nation

ha ha ha o.k. whatever, I had my dna done for an ancestry issue, that didn’t come up but if it were true, its still irrelevant.

          • Lenfb

Wrong. It means we all came from the same stock. Not that we were all black.

      • Godzilla11

The term “White Latino” was invented by the media FOR Zimmerman to brainwash idiots into a race situation. It’s no more complex than that.

        • etfp

Have you read a census form prior to 2012, you idiot?

        • Kelly S

but it is a thing that exists. trust me. i could be called a white latina too. race and ethnicity are not tidy little things. if you think the term is silly, fine, but mexican is one of my mutt mix, even though i “look” white. my mother “looks” hispanic, with a german maiden name.

        • Michael Cruise

No, that’s absolutely incorrect. The term has been around for at least as long as I’ve been alive and I’ll be 47 years of age soon.

        • Memette WS

Godzilla11’s privilege is speaking—and glaringly so. The privilege not to have to know anything about anybody elses culture. If you did, you’d know Hispanic is not a race, and it’s been that way for many many years.

      • shorty5704

I’ve written many comments that Hispanic is not a race. They’ve all fallen on deaf ears/blind eyes.

      • KatieAnnieOakley

        Words mean things.

        Like, “fucking coons?”

        • Lenfb

Sure they do, but we already know that wasn’t said by him.
So all you are doing is showing that you can not accept reality.

    • Michael Cruise

You’re clearly living life in a bubble because what you are suggesting as having happened is actually the exact opposite of what’s really happened. You’re all over the map. Hawt mess.

    • JnK8288

Ummm… There is a cousin, an ex, and an ex co-worker that all have recollections of Zimmerman and even other family members using racial slurs… Might wish to update your Zimmerman details… You can Google for all details on the recorded interviews… Maybe you missed that he is suspected of child molestation as well?

  • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

Zimmerman’s supporters set this whole ‘rescue’ up. Hell even Casey Anthony didn’t stoop that low to be rescuing drowning babies in the community pools.

    • Lenfb

      Really?
      Prove it!
It is idiotic to think a person would endanger the child in such an accident just for Zimmerman.
Come back to reality, your assertion isn’t even likely.

  • http://NoMormonInWhiteHouse.blogspot.com/ Timothy Lee Unrine

I guess insurance fraud is impossible in your cubicle?

  • Red Barron

How was this blog able to obtain private cell phone data? They state “records reveal a call or text.” Well which one did he do?? There is a difference between the two operations on a cell phone record. Did this crackpot reporting team not ask for real help to determine the type of communication? My guess is no because they want to obsess over 1 guy.

    This story reeks of desperation.

    • Keith D.

I wondered that too, because no one else anywhere on planet Earth that I’ve seen seems to have mentioned any of the officer’s cell phone records.

Of course I also haven’t seen anyone come forward and actually admit to having seen Zimmerman there (though I haven’t followed the story for several days now either) other than the police chief I think it was who said that someone told the firemen that Zimmerman rescued someone. Why no firemen have come forward to say that if they’re the ones who were told? Why has no one come forward to say that, yes, they saw Zimmerman there? Why is a police chief passing along hearsay as evidence? That also doesn’t make sense to me.

      • Tammy Minton Haley

go to newsball…the site is extremely detailed in how the evidence was gathered and given…

  • shorty5704

I don’t really care that much about this story one way or the other and I’m not coming up with conspiracy theories. I am glad that no one at the scene was hurt.

That being said, I wish Mark O’Mara would stfu. He is such a media who-e and will do everything he can to stir sh-t, trump up the “threat” crap and imply that ” the Blacks” are all out to harm poor, innocent, loving, caring George.

Regardless of what they think about George, I suspect that family backed out of the press conference because they realized they were getting caught up in O’Mara’s agenda. Anyway, who does has a press conference when they’ve been in a one car accident where no one got hurt?

    Have a seat O’Mara.

  • Tamara Gozan

I support Trayvon Martin during the trial. I believe that GZ caused that whole even by pursuing him but the law states that following someone is not illegal. No one will ever know what happened that night and whor threw the first blow…except GZ. He killed the only other witness. Do I think Zimmerman is a jackazz…yes! But I also think that this article is even more absurd. I am black and I feel the need to say that because I feel strongly that if you want to do something to make things better in this country you have to let the hatred go and do something positive like donate to the Trayvon Martin Foundation. Or trying to stop the senseless murders of young black men everyday mostly at the hands of other black men….IJS This is just ridiculous, negative, senseless, and pointless.

    • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

With all due respect, perhaps you should research the police department in question. They have a dubious past: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/03/trayvon-martin-sanford-racial-history
If in any way, the police department or one of their police officers is complicit in staging this heroic rescue, then I’m going to be all over it. This is not acceptable. Remember, they did not want to press charges against GZ for months.

      • KatieAnnieOakley

There IS a relationship with Patrick Rehder and the Gerstle’s: Look below:

See the boy? See his dad, the guy wearing the bowl haircut? Who wears their hair like that, in a bowl cut? Perhaps he dyes it now, as he’s a 50+ “older father” with young children.

That little boy is pictured with his family AND with Patrick Rehder. Note the distinctive shape of the boys head. The identical round eyes. You tell me:

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

I’m positive there is a relationship between the two but this picture is not concrete evidence. Every alarm in my head has been blaring off since this ‘heroic rescue’. If this is a sham, then what does it say about the department’s decision to not press charges against GZ for months?

I don’t typically buy into conspiracies but this one seems obvious.

          • Lenfb

If you have alarms blaring in your head, it may explain this conspiratorially nonsense that you are spewing.

      • Tamara Gozan

Guess I’ll keep an open mind. I’m just concerned with Trayvon Martin supporters coming off as petty and his situation has been dragged through the media so much. If there is proof of wrongdoing it should be reported to the department of justice. They are doing a civil rights investigation. They are taking evidence from the public. sanford.florida@usdoj.gov
Many think the gov’t will not act, maybe they can’t, but if there is evidence of tampering and wrong doing in this case there’s the email address.

      • Lenfb

The PD’s past is just that. The past.
Leadership was replaced. So there is no connection.

        • http://FreakoutNation.com Anomaly 100

Nah there is. Are you following me here? Two comments in a row? For realsies?

    • Al Satan

He’s dead so how did you support him.

      • http://losttribeofshabazz.com/ Tamara Gozan

Well you are right and despite the fact that he is dead it didn’t stop many people from calling him derogatory names and labeling him a “punk” and street thug just like Zimmerman did the night he shot him….before he even encountered him. Ironically he is the only person with a perspective in the case that was unable to be present yet he was called all kind of horrible things and characterized as if people knew him. Whenever I saw this I spoke out against it. It’s wrong and inhumane…People are really sick!

I supported the cause of getting justice for him which to me meant hearing the evidence and making an honest assessment. I watched the entire trial. Although I’m not in favor of the verdict I do understand how it was derived. I can understand how hurt and upset his parents must feel.

Now I feel as a citizen it is my responsibility to point at that there are many social ails that led to this tragedy. Not just Zimmerman’s actions but even before that night with the young black men breaking into homes in the neighborhood. That also played a factor in my opinion. If there were not a need to be so overly sensitive about young black men in the neighborhood people would not have been on high alert so to say. People need to realize that the actions of a minority can have an effect on the whole. Like for example, the country is on a high risk for a terror alert. Would you not look funny at some people or people that in your opinion look suspicious when you are at the airport or on board a plane. I cannot say that I would not.

Anyway, in the name of justice I think that this tragedy can be used as a lesson to our society as a whole and that people would benefit more from looking at what we all can do to make our community better and safer for everyone.

How police reports are done? Oh please…enlighten us. Do not make the mistake of assuming that everyone on a thread are laypersons.

  • NICOLEMARIEXOXO

You can’t trust anyone now a days not even a police officer how sad what has this world come too? *sigh*

“Why couldn’t he defend himself against a 17 year-old during a fight?” –Maybe you missed it… he did defend himself and quite effectively.

    • http://www.facebook.com/steward.b.clinton Steward B. Clinton

He stalked and provoked the fight, a murderous coward with a phalic insecurity complex, too ignorant of Africans in America, to afraid to become knowledgeble, a fascist hiding behind the gun – ‘after’ studying how to do it. Lied on the stand, no blood or cuts on his head when he went to the police station, But studied martial arts 3 days a week for months, his history conveniently left out while a 17 year old is paraded by your Koch brother billionaires. Is that who you represent, or did you simply ignore the evidence, the jury rigging, the recorded audio tape, the DNA which does NOT wash off, and 30 other items that Koch, Murdock, Glenn Beck, Limbaugh news left out (as usual). But you have the gall to think your one-sentence oversimplification is somehow correct. That says a lot about you doesn’t it? I invite you to debate these points since you think you know it all and obviously don’t.

      • Lenfb

No, he did not stalk or provoke a fight. Learn the evidence. And yes there was blood and cuts on his head when he went to the police station. Learn the evidence.

You just have no clue as to what you speak.

      • Spin24

You have an amazing amount of baggage. I can only imagine that it must be difficult to focus on reality.

According to a report I read, Martin was trained and competed in the martial arts. His mother sent him to live with his father since she could no longer control him and was ejected from school for beating up another student. He was disappointed though that he did not cause the other student to bleed more.

This is just more made up fact in an attempt to cover up the truth. Keep trying to make Zimmerman appear to be something he is not.

    • Lenfb

      No it is not.

People who spew the crap you are, usually get theirs as well, and when they do they never understand why.
