Tea Party crowd cheers as Republican Congressman rejects little girl’s request for help

DesJarlais, who is a doctor and anti-abortion, has had numerous affairs, including with some of his patients, and once pressured a mistress to have an abortion. But, he says that “God has totally forgiven him” for that.

Good to know, right?

DeJarlais

Got to love these family values Republicans and their hypocrisy, and their callous treatment of those who are not like they are.

Watch the video below. DesJarlais is up for re-election in 2014.

Please share this wide and far to expose this piece of work for who he really is.

The description under the video reads, “Josie rose and took the mic, and in a trembling voice, said “Mr. Desjarlais, I have papers but my daddy doesn’t, what can you do to make sure he can stay?” Rep. Desjarlais rebuked her request to a round of applause from the audience, but Josie and her family will keep on fighting to stop his deportation.”

Editor’s note: Information previously obtained by FreakOutNation confirms DesJarlais’ hypocrisy, in so many areas.

  • Kenneth J. Hicks

While it’s to be expected of the GOP, very few Congressmen will actually help an individual or small group of constituents. Congress is filled with careerists and most will not risk something that could cost votes or, more importantly, campaign funding. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand immediately jumps to my mind.

    • tiredoftea

Your axe to grind here is what, exactly?

  • mea_mark

The crowd cheers at the suffering of a child and Satan smiles, as his pawns spread misery.

    • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

the crowd cheering for her father’s deportment is beyond vile. I am certain they consider themselves good people, probably church goers, that give to charity and hold themselves above others. How kind of them to devastate a young girls hopes and then celebrate their separation or certain deportment. I guess simply showing her a little sympathy never occurred to them.

      • Dennisdread_2000

They know not honor, they know not compassion(except for Geo Zimmerman) and they know not decency. I think you’re giving them too much credit.

        • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

What a perfect word, honor. A difficult achievement but a lifetime goal. I’m afraid their definition of “decency” is completely different than yours or mine, you can forget compassion.

      • KathyCreighton

Their “charity” which consists of putting a sterile check in an envelope and sending it far away. Guarenballbearin’ you will not see them volunteering in the local soup kitchen, helping sort food at the food bank or clothes at the drop off. You will not see them delivering meals or clothing to families in the area or going on midnight runs in the nearest city to feed and clothe the street people. No, they don’t ever want to put a face on where their charity is going because then they will see what has happened to this country while we were being distracted and lulled into apathy by “big money”. WAKE UP AMERICA!! It’s time to take back our country.

    • Hank

That’s pretty dramatic. Perhaps your writing talents are being wasted on a mere Political Blog? You really think Satan and His pawns were paying attention?? :-)

      • mea_mark

My writing skills had gotten pretty dull over the years, so I started posting comments to sharpen them. Thanks for the compliment, it shows it is working.

Paying attention — I don’t know, perhaps we should ask the Devils we create inside our minds.

        • Hank

You mean like all those “Talibaggers” and “Rethuglicans” y’all are always talking about?? 😉

          • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

Actually, Hank, I monitor both conservative and liberal sites, posts, and comments, and I have to say that WITHOUT A DOUBT, there are far more offensive and insulting terminologies used by GOP supporters against anyone opposing their views. I see far more frequent calls for violence against elected democratic officials than I have EVER seen against elected republican officials, past or present. I see far more erroneous and inflammatory accusations made by republicans against democrats than made by democrats against republicans, and yet, a larger percentage of the voters elected this current democratic president TWICE. That says a lot about the character and mentality of people in general, and particularly people who haunt these websites and blogs.

          • Hank

Honestly Kathy, my experience has been precisely the opposite. I have NEVER seen the vitriol, hatred, vulgarity and filth on any conservative site I have visited to compare with the daily fare on most liberal blogs. It has been my personal experience that Liberals can be a special kind of nasty, vicious and PERSONAL in their hatred and hateful remarks. There are some exceptions of course, which is precisely why this is one of the VERY FEW blogs I continue to frequent.

The fact that a President presiding over a country in financial tatters, with a foreign policy aimless and adrift, with allies no longer trusting us and enemies no longer fearing us does, as you say, speak VOLUMES about the character and mentality of our “American Idol” society.

Barack Hussein Obama. The style over substance President. Twice!! I’m not sure that is something I would care to brag about.

          • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

Take everything you said, and change conservative to liberal, Democrat to Republican, and speak of the incredible failures and illegal activities of George W, and what you said will have been true. As it is presently, it’s just a meandering attempt to defend the indefensible. You OBVIOUSLY are not looking at very many sites, nor objectively reading all the comments but simply going through to cherry-pick. We’ve been in discussions before and it’s obvious we are polar opposites so I don’t care to continue dialog with you any more. In fact, I really started not to comment to you at all, knowing that it would lead to my having to read a whole load of your unintelligent, unintelligible, politically-biased spewing forth with no basis in fact whatsoever. Please go enjoy the rest of your fantasy day in your fantasy world… where Republicans are good guys and Democrats are bad guys and you can la-la-land your way to FAUX happiness.

          • Hank
  • KCMOfan

This guy is a total hypocrite. The extreme right will cheer the most despicable things. They are the mirror images of fascist.

    • BanditBasheert

He ranks right up there with Joseph Mengele.

      • Hank

Isn’t that close enough to call Godwin’s Rule Violation??

  • bancaturday

I’ll cheer when Cat Double Post Day(Caturday) is banned

  • Paul Ronan

We have laws and your ass belongs in jail you slimy SOB!

  • Paul Ronan

He should have lost his license for sleeping with his patients and quite probably should have been prosecuted for pressuring his mistress into having an abortion. Isn’t that tantamount to assisting in the destruction of the fetus? Seems to me this man does not belong holding public office.

    • rjcarter

Agreed. God may have forgiven him, which helps him later. But it doesn’t absolve him of consequences in the physical world.

      • BanditBasheert

So you’re taking the position that god may have forgiven him? Has he apologized or has he ever said that coercing patients into affairs and abortions was wrong?

      • Genesis A. Slaughter

He’s the only one that said God forgave him? If so, did he do anything to make things right with the people he hurt? Did he get their forgiveness or just spit in their face because he said God forgave? God said if you have ought with or against anyone, you must go to that person before going to the altar, even in your giving. But, maybe he doesn’t tithe! Just saying…..

    • BanditBasheert

That question should be answered by the Board of Medical Examiners of his State. If they have one. Or do they give a medical license to anyone who owns a big knife?

  • arizonamildman

We have laws and sometimes we decide the laws are wrong. We need to change the laws, not ignore them and try to act like that not liking a law makes it acceptable to ignore.

    • BanditBasheert

And I force my patients to have sex with me- it’s the ethical thing to do.

    • juicyfruityyy

He is not going to go on record saying that he would do anything for her father. He will lose his base and his campaign funds. Yes, to this Tea-bagger, the money is more important, than the young girl, needing her father. Even though, they push having family values!

  • Guest

There is NOTHING human or American about the Tea Party Taliban Reichpublicans. They are more disgusting than disease filled elephant shit.

    • Dennisdread_2000

They ARE disease filled elephant shit.

      • BanditBasheert

Apologies to elephants everywhere who are much more intelligent than any of these filthy Tbagging Republicans.

      • Crysta

Please don’t insult fecal matter, for it has both purpose and worth…

Call them nuclear waste, that needs to shot into the sun, or buried deep, where it will never see light again…

        • Hank

See what happens when you don’t discipline children for not playing nicely?? 😉

      • Hank

Oh now there you go. That one’s MUCH better.

    • Hank

Why do 17 people encourage commentary like this by voting it up??? This comment says nothing and is childish and vulgar.

      • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

I think sometimes an overwhelming sense of frustration just needs a release. It’s Sunday, and I spent way too much time in the yard for an old lady with an adult kid living at home, so I took my frustration out on Scott Walker a few stories up and Ms Pain, excuse me Palin over some comments she made. Like you, I agree tempered comments are best. However, this dirt bag (Desjarlais) certainly doesn’t deserve our consideration, although not necessarily over this. My issue was over the crowd reaction. He got quite a bit of press prior to the election and then I forgot about him – I was stunned when I read this and saw he’d been elected. Anyhow, I think people simply want a way to express their outrage.

        • Hank

And again, I am NOT defending Desjarlais in any way. I think he is at best “damaged goods”. But much of the allegations against him came from an angry ex-wife in the middle of a nasty divorce proceeding.

I see he was investigated by some Civil Watchdog Group, but I can’t find the result of those investigations.

          • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

Oh he admitted to sleeping with a number of his patients, they testified in court he pressured them into having abortions, he did not dispute it. He’s scum, he self admitted scum. The people that voted for him, well I don’t know what to say about them. I didn’t think you were defending him, and I don’t think there’s anything he can do to help the little girl – however he could have handled it better. The crowd reaction is stomach turning. Have we become so fearful of allowing immigrants or so intent on punishing them that a crowd will cheer a child’s fear?

          • http://www.tumblr.com/blog/akinsc Carla Akins

this is huffpo but the piece is on the medical board fining him. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/23/scott-desjarlais-fined_n_3327099.html

  • rjcarter

Complimented her courage, then said, “We have laws and we need to follow those laws.”
I see nothing to disagree with here. The laws apply equally or they don’t apply at all.

    • http://FreakoutNation.com/ Anomaly 100

I think DesJarlais needed to find his inner McCain and do the right thing when the crowd began cheering. As for your other comment, I really didn’t have a problem with the other guy, but their ages differ greatly unless I’m thinking of the wrong person. (That could very well be. I need coffee badly.) But I support our youth asking our elected officials the tough questions because no one seems to be holding them accountable.

    • rick dalton

Ignorance can not see the tuth for the lies they believe in

    • BanditBasheert

Unless you are a physician who coerces his patients into having affairs. He has a real problem with his ethics – he makes a lousy Congresscritter AND a lousy physician.

      • Hank

To the best of my knowledge, most of the allegations are not proven and became public through the efforts of an angry ex wife out of a nasty divorce proceeding and in an attempt to sabotage his candidacy.

Some or all of them may be true or may not. It is my understanding there was an investigation initiated in October of 2012. I have not been able to find any information on what they found out.

    • Genesis A. Slaughter

They apply to some but not all. Get it right……

    • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

But apparently the laws and rules don’t apply to HIM… Nor does his pro-life stand when faced with his own situation of an unwanted pregnancy with one of his paramours, who was then encouraged (coerced?) by him to get an abortion.

      • rjcarter

I get that he’s a complete hypocrite. I was commenting on the message more than the disreputable messenger. To bring his own hypocrisy into the conversation is tantamount to asking “You broke the law for yourself… so come on, break it for this guy too.”

        • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

Oh, I was not advocating “eye for an eye” in law breaking at all… just to point out his hypocrisy which has been so typical in the “new” republican party of the past 20 years.

          • rjcarter

I think we can agree he’s a slimeball.

          • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

            YEP!!!

  • rjcarter

But I’m glad we can all get behind a young person stepping up to the microphone to has the hard questions of our government officials. Just like we did when Gabe Finger put Jay Carney in a tight spot, right?

  • rick dalton

What would be new if you ever found anyone in the tea party member who isn’t a racist bigot and brain dead? This proves they are a total nut cases

    • BanditBasheert

And don’t forget, this man coerced his patients into having affairs – and was still elected. The requirement to be elected to Congress in the GOP is to be a low as pond scum, have affairs and be rich. That’s it – and the TBigots eat it up….not realizing that this jerk doesn’t give a damn about them. In fact I would bet that most of the GOPer House Members spend most of their spare time laughing at the yahoo nimrods that vote for them.

      • Diane Fry

AND the republicans wanted to impeach President Bill Clinton?

  • juicyfruityyy

This young lady, will always remember this moment. This moment, is also going to come back to hunt, Tea-bagger DesJarlais. People are watching and they vote.

    • Hank

Yeah. The moment some adult drug her to a political event and prompted her to allow herself to be used.

      • jonathan

the problem with your comment is that you can not say they are lying. the fact is the republicans do not mind separating a family and that is what is sad. once again the gop comes across cold and heartless.

        • Hank

Regardless, I don’t think you should be pimping your children for political points. And your characterization of Republicans or any self respecting, reasonably decent person INCLUDING most liberals 😉 advocating separating families reeks of bias and little else. On the other hand, many Americans oppose ILLEGAL immigration.

          • DaddyO_969

It’s NOT political when it affects her personally and directly. Get over your conservative horse shit. NO ONE was ever invited to this country and white men have done everything in their power to turn it into a bastion of Puritan thought. Which is ludicrous, farcical, and damaging to everything it touches. The child has a vested interest in her father being able to stay in this country and they came here almost certainly for the same reasons your ancestors did. Republicans are clearly interested only in control. Most politicians of whatever stripe are, but at least progressives think and act as Christians, whereas the Tali-bagger, right wing conservative ‘christians’ patently do not.

          • Hank

Really not much to address there as it is for the most part editorial commentary.

I will point out though that at least, horse sh** has substance. Which is more than I can say about that flatulence you are spreading.

      • SheltieJim

Yeah, and if *your* family were being threatened, I’d bet you’d be just fine with grabbing your 6-shooter to defend them. But having a child speak the message? No, that’s different. Somehow.

        • Hank

Okay. You’re going to have to explain that one as it makes absolutely no sense at all. A valid comparison would be me asking my child to grab a “six shooter” and defend something,…..which by the way, I would not do.

      • Kathy Hasty Rutledge

You are making a HUGE and possibly erroneous assumption that the little girl was ‘pimped’ for political purposes. There actually ARE involved, intelligent, articulate children in this country who have a desire to be heard and aren’t afraid to place themselves in an adult forum in an adult world to ask adults adult questions. Too bad she couldn’t be given the courtesy and respect of an actual response.

        • rjcarter

Unless they’re bused into Albuquerque for an abortion demonstration… *ducks*

        • Hank

I think it’s a reasonable “assumption” to think not too many 11 year olds wake up and ask their mommy to take them to a political event.

Also, you can’t have it both ways. If you are going to assign to this young girl some degree of legitimacy in asking this question, then why should the Representative not give her an honest answer?

To me, that is what people are complaining about. She asked a question and was given an honest answer.

Still, I maintain you shouldn’t pimp your children for political points.

  • Constance Jackson

We must do everything we can n get this man OUT of Office! We fell asleep n bcame complacent n we became overrun by ppl determined to make Americans as miserable as THEY Are!

  • http://alternet.com/ George Schmitt

The Indians were the first to arrive from Mongolia 10,000 years ago. There were many blacks here 400 years ago to work the plantations. DesJarlais is a French name which means that his ancestors probably came to America after 1600. Now who is the new immigrant? And remember many Mexicans have lots of Indian blood in them. Where is your green card Cracker immigrant

    • juicyfruityyy

These people believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old. Their history books/bible do not speak the facts/truth. And, they only read the parts, that advance their agenda

      • Hank

Really? What people would that be? Did you poll the crowd?

  • http://alternet.com/ George Schmitt

I think girls should carry an ice pick in their pants for a real “Rapist’s Delight” right in the belly button.

  • Genesis A. Slaughter

So true Constance. This happened all over the country and many are sorry for it. BUT, 2014 is just around the corner, let’s make it happen. Keep talking to people and posting here. We will win 2014 and 2016

  • Hank

I’m not a fan of Desjarlais. But I am even less a fan of people that pimp their kids for political purpose.

    • DaddyO_969

Children become adults. Children are far more perceptive than you think. This POS has no business in politics or considering himself a leader. Neither his ancestors, nor yours, nor mine were invited here. That makes us all illegal immigrants. Maybe you should consider the actual beginnings of this country and WHY people attempt to come here. And, BTW – they do NOT take your job, unless you’re willing to pick fruit, cut lawns and other very menial tasks.

      • Hank

You have the right to pimp your children if you want to. That is not a choice I would make. And it is obvious what people that do are trying to accomplish.

Regardless of what you or I think of him, he has been elected twice. Once after all the controversies came up. By y’all’s criteria, that would appear to give him some sort of a stamp of approval!!
