Texas Republican Senator says White House is distracting from Obamacare with Iran deal

When the news broke that a deal has been reached between six world powers and Iran to limit its nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief, Texas Senator John Cornyn reached a bizarre conclusion. On the other hand, Republicans seem to think anything Obama does is a distraction from whatever point they choose to bring up.

John Cornyn

The number 2 Republican in the Senate suggested via a tweet on Saturday night that the  Obama administration anchored  a nuclear deal along with world powers to limit Iran’s nuclear capabilities only to distract from the problems of Obamacare.

David Plouffe responded.

The Republican solution:

I guess Ted Cruz’s stupidity has spread to Cornyn.

    • Cosmic_Surfer

Cornyn knows he has to attract the RWNJs of TX to keep his job. He is up for re-election

Yup, like a poisonous tumor that needs to be cut out.

  • mea_mark

Texas Senator John Cornyn must really want to be interviewed by Alex Jones on Infowars. The conspiracies of the Obama Administration are going world wide now.

Nice of Iran and the other countries to accommodate Obama by making this agreement just now, just so he could get his distraction from the non-clusterfuck of Obamacare.

  • Linda1961

Obamacare isn’t the clusterfuck the gopers have convinced themselves that it is. Not even the website is a clusterfuck, although it has had major problems, which are being fixed. There is no need for Obama to distract from it, but clearly the gop has convinced itself that Obamacare is in such bad shape that he would welcome a distraction from it, because that is what they would do if in a jam – distract. Unlike the gop, Obama fixes things rather than distract from them.

I thought Omabacare was distracting from Benghazi? I’m confused now.

    • Hank

Is Omabacare any worse than Obamacare? Easy to see why you’re so easily confused! 😉

Shut up Johnny boy, MORON, the adults are trying to talk.

  • Cosmic_Surfer

Iranian peace deals are not distractions. They are imperative. Anything that actually pulls the world community together to stop nuclear proliferation is more important than political whining over corporate manipulated health care for one nation.

My biggest concern is the fact the US continues to maintain and build one of the biggest Nuclear stockpiles on the planet but still refuses to acknowledge the threat to the planet from warheads, waste and potential accident http://www.ploughshares.org/world-nuclear-stockpile-report?gclid=CPLV37L5_boCFccRMwodInEA_w

“Iranian peace deals are not distractions.”

They are when only one side is “dealing” honestly.

    It’s all a conspiracy!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!

  • David

    It’s all a conspiracy!!!!! LMFAO

Didn’t the Republicans just say 3 or 4 days ago, that Harry Reid using the Nuclear option, was to distract us from the so called trainwreck of Obamacare. I guess they just don’t know what outrages in what order they are supposed to be so mad about, Fox news is overloading the Republican Outrage machine, Fox should know their viewers can’t handle too much information, even if most of it is made up fantasy. These people take their outrage serious, Fox better package their fake outrage and hate a little better. John Cornyn threw them a curve ball, not to worry though, Fox and Friends will package all these little outrages into a nice Monday morning talking point, so that their viewers have enough hate in their little hearts to sustain them until they can get to their cars and get their fix from Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh. Corporate sponsored hate, who knew it could be so profitable and an actual commodity.

Immigration Lawyer Linda Vega has announced that she will run against Cornyn. Wuhooo! She however, will need a LOT of support to be a serious contender, as she is only now entering the election level of public service. and Cornyn already has a 7 million dollar war chest for 2014.

    • mea_mark

I am hoping Michael Fjetland takes Cornyns place. He is a republican turned democrat. More about him here… http://blog.chron.com/txpotomac/2013/11/republican-turned-democrat-runs-for-cornyns-senate-seat/ The way I figure it, a conservative democrat is a lot better than the rwnj’s we’ve been getting. Vega is pro-choice and too conservative.

      • Pixie Schrimpf

Pro choice is good. Conservative is not bad if she is not over the top. Thanks for the heads up mea_mark, I will now begin some research.

        • mea_mark

I goofed sorry, wasn’t thinking why typing, she is pro-life.

        • Pixie Schrimpf

Wow! Thanks mea! Linda Vega is not pro choice at all! She also refers to herself as a “staunch pro-life Republican” Done, done, and done.

I guess the Republicans can only handle one thing at a time. It explains how hating Obama has taken the place of doing anything for the last 5 years.

  • Hank

Well…..essentially, they are. The whole nuclear option thing also. They know how easily people are distracted by shiny things.
