Hobby Lobby Tied To Creepy ‘Christian’ Counseling Center That Treated Josh Duggar

As a surprise to no one ever, after it was revealed that Josh Duggar was all up in 5 young girls’ private parts, including his sisters, another twist (there are so many) is reported.

Hobby Lobby founder David Green and nice guy Josh Duggar

Throw Hobby Lobby in the mix and we’ve got us some hypocrisy at the highest level.

Gawker reported in 2014, “The founder of a homeschooling empire championed by reality TV’s Duggar family and Sarah Palin, Bill Gothard resigned earlier this year amid accusations that he molested dozens of women. No one, he says, was more instrumental to his now-controversial ministry than the family behind Hobby Lobby.”

Josh, the creepy molester, was sent to Basic Life Principles Training Center which was led by the Duggar’s family friend Bill Gothard. You see, the family sent their creepy son to get treatment from a creepy guy who later left the center after reaching out and touching girls in his ministry.

Here’s the kicker.

The Hobby Lobby billionaire gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and real estate to Gothard and his controversial theocratic fundamentalist Baptist movement.

Like Josh, it wasn’t just one girl and Gothard wasn’t playing doctor with the 30 teenage girls he got all touch-y feel-y with.

Wonkette reports:

Arkansas courts ALSO sent juvenile offenders to Gothard’s programs, housed in an old VA hospital in Little Rock, donated by some other good friends, the Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby. Yes, THAT Hobby Lobby, the arts and crafts store that has very sincere religious beliefs about sex and how ladies shouldn’t do it, except for when they are married, to make babies for Jesus. Sound familiar? But Hobby Lobby also believes, apparently, that if boys do sex to girls, it is because the girls tempted them to do it, so the boys should have a special place to go to learn how to not be tempted to diddle their sisters. So Hobby Lobby gave Gothard this nice building where he could teach that kind of thing.

Shortly after the institute acquired the building, Gothard began renovating the space, saying it would be used for the Little Rock Training Center, which would house “court-referred youthful offenders in the organization’s Bible-based rehabilitation program,” according to an April 2000 article in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Gothard resigned as president of the institute on March 6, 2014, after being accused of sexual harassment of female employees.

You know who else hearts the creepy Institute? Mike Huckabee, that’s who.

Wonkette points us to the Ethics Daily where there’s a revealing article from 2007:

Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee has ties to a controversial Bible teacher known for authoritarian views that critics say border on spiritual abuse.

Most Americans never heard of Chicago-based teacher Bill Gothard until newspapers wrote about Colorado church shooter Matthew Murray’s 2006 Internet rant about growing up under strict homeschool teaching developed as part of Gothard’s Institute in Basic Life Principles.

That piqued attention to a photo of Huckabee and Gothard together at a Houston fund-raiser posted to a family blog of a Gothard disciple.

The Cincinnati Beacon described Huckabee as a “long-time admirer” of Gothard. The former Arkansas governor wrote a letter used by Gothard to promote a program aimed at infiltrating city governments with core principles of the ministry stripped of overt religious references.

“As a person who has actually been through the Basic Seminar, I am confident that these are some of the best programs available for instilling character into the lives of people,” Huckabee wrote in a letter promoting Gothard’s prison ministry. Arkansas prisons had been using Gothard seminars and materials since 1996.

Huckabee is the same religious guy who blasted the Obamas’ parenting skills because their daughters have the audacity to listen to Beyonce, even though Huck’s son once murdered a dog. And we all know that good kids never listen to music and instead murder animals. Just ask any serial killer.

Huckabee also wanted to spread the goodness of Gothard’s “Character Cities” program, which sought to “merge his institute’s teachings with government programs.”

With all of these revelations due to old Internet articles which can be found on the Googles, creepy Huckabee enthusiastically supports creepy Josh Duggar.

We would enjoy a schadenfreude moment if children were not harmed due to these ‘Christians’ perving all over them.

Also, too, we noted last year that ‘Holly Hobby Lobby’ committed adultery. She was having sexy-time with another man at the Family Values Conference, whose Vet husband forgave her later, because God. I see a pattern here.
