When President Obama arrives in Durant, Oklahoma, today to announce the ConnectHome program, he will be greeted by Confederate flag-worshippers because the group says they want to ‘show Southern heritage’. Knowing that the flag is concerned by many to be racist, the group still plans to display it when our country’s first black president arrives.
The president’s proposal promises to bring high-speed internet access to low-income communities across America, particularly in rural areas.
The Daily Kos reports:
Indeed, the White House plans for this pilot program to reach 275,000 households and 200,000 children who have no access to high-speed broadband.
However, some citizens in Durant are lining the streets not to give Obama the honored welcome he deserves, but to shower him with images of hatred.
Specifically, the Confederate flag.

It was just last month that a white supremacist who idolized the Confederate flag, walked into a black church while people were attending Bible study, then slaughtered nine of them. And today, while our black president attempts to forge ahead with a proposal to help the very areas these vile groups resident in, he is met with hatred. Again.
This is typical of the tea party’s hatred for President Obama — a group who couldn’t identify a single policy they disagreed with if their Confederate hate flags depended on it. Nothing has changed.
Wave the American flag if you want to be a rebel. Real rebels fought for that flag.
