Fox News “Happening Now” show interviewed super-duper right-wing radio host Pete Santilli, playing the role of spokesman for Ammon Bundy’s government-hating, gun-toting Oregon clan currently playing “militia fort” at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns, Oregon.
It’s not throwback Thursday yet, but the past of the aptly named Peter (as euphemism for “dick”) is not of what normal spokespersons are made. Back in 2013 Pete was investigated by the Secret Service for threatening to shoot Hillary Clinton in her vagina.
“I want to shoot her in the vagina and I don’t want her to die right away; I want her to feel the pain.”
Aside from his whacky role playing obnoxious radio host and militia spokesman, he’s whack on human sexuality. It’s called the “vulva,” Pete, not “vagina.” If we’re talking about female external genitalia, vulva is the correct anatomical name. Vagina is the passageway from the vulva to cervix of the uterus. Did you miss sexuality education class that day? Oh, right, you’re uber-conservative; you don’t believe in sexuality education. Never mind.
And if the death threat on Hillary’s body wasn’t bad enough, he went a step further in 2014 to threaten President Obama with death. On his radio show this right-wing blowhard said he wanted to see President Obama tried and shot for treason. The guy is a real dick, like I said. He illustrated how by featuring a cartoon that likened the animated character “Carter,” who goes back in time to the Ford Theater, just like John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln at Ford’s Theater, and shoots President Obama in the head, sending a splatter of blood all over the Constitution.
Back to the present for now. Yesterday, as spokesman for the Oregon heehawdists, he mansplained the protest to “Happening Now” reporter Dan Springer, “They’re here to enforce the supreme law of the land, which is the U.S. Constitution.”
You see, Pete, Ammon and his brother Ryan, along with their now-hungry minions, are holed up in the federal wildlife refuge because of the two Oregon ranchers Dwight Hammond and his son Steve, whose prison sentences sparked their bird sanctuary occupation. The Hammond’s faced more jail time for setting fires that spread to government land after their original sentences were extended by about four years each, and they went on the run. Yesterday, however, both men surrendered to authorities at the federal prison in San Pedro, California. And both have repudiated the Bundy protest.
And, Pete, if you didn’t know it already, Ammon has refused to pay back the $530,000 he borrowed through the government’s Small Business Administration loan guarantee program. Fight government tyranny? Puh-leeze. Americans should be protesting them, for heaven’s sake. According to the SBA loan facts, Ammon’s faulting on the loan could end up costing U.S. taxpayers a helluva lot of money.
So, Pete, go back to Oregon and tell your people they’re done. They’ve been denounced three times: First, by the government; second by the Burns, Oregon community, and third, by the Hammonds themselves. Please also tell them all that regardless of their religious claims on the land, they are not Jesus. They do not get to return.
