A drug bust in Florida’s Hernando County turned up 5,500 individually-wrapped doses of heroin, some of which were labeled with pictures of President Donald Trump.
To add insult to injury for our notoriously thin-skinned president, The Tampa Bay Times reports:
One pile of wax paper envelopes that contained individually wrapped doses of heroin bore the name of El Chapo, the infamous Mexican drug lord. Another pile had envelopes with the name of Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar.
The packets of heroin were seized last week, on Jan. 27. The stash was so huge, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhui gave a press conference and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi joined him.
And if her name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s the one who chose not to sue Donald Trump for his Trump University scam…after her campaign received $25,000 from the Trump Foundation.
At the press conference, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhui explained the U.S. Postal Service tipped them off when they intercepted a shipment in May, 2016.
“The suspect, he would drive up to the Northeast area of the United States. And he would actually purchase the heroin, and ship it to Hernando County and different areas of Spring Hill.”
Nienhui laid out the piles of heroin packets for the press to see and declared:
“That is a tremendous amount of heroin for any place, but particularly for Hernando County.”
Pam Bondi, Trump’s second-biggest cheerleader next to Kellyanne Conway, then wasted no time in taking this opportunity to brown nose her benefactor. She held up one of the heroin packets with Donald Trump’s face on it and fumed at the suspect like a High School mean girl dressing down the town nerd.
“All I want to say to this drug dealer is, ‘Big mistake by putting the president’s picture on this. Big mistake. Because he is going to be our most fierce advocate in taking this junk off of our streets. Can you believe this? Big mistake.”
The suspect is Kelvin Scott Johnson, 46, of Spring Hill. The sheriffs arrested him on charges of heroin trafficking, possession and sale of heroin. Plus there’s
…possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and driving with a suspended license. He was being held Friday in lieu of $75,000 bail at the Hernando County Detention Center.
On Friday Nienhui said there were “about 5,000” packets of heroin, but the Tampa Bay Times WFLA and later reported the final total as 5,550.
Only in Florida: Packets of heroin with Donald Trump’s face seized in huge drug bust.
