On Thursday, Top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway gave what she called a ‘free commercial’ on Fox & Friends to urge viewers to buy products from the clothing line run by the alleged president’s daughter. Conway was literally speaking from the White House briefing room when she told the public to “go buy Ivanka’s stuff” to show their support for Trump.
“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff, is what I would tell you. … I’m going to give it a free commercial here: Go buy it today,” Conway said.
She was defending Trump over his tweet yesterday in both his personal and POTUS account when he lashed out at the retailer Nordstrom, who, by the way, stopped selling her clothing line due to poor sales.
“My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom,” he tweeted. “She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”
Trump is upset because his daughter’s clothing line is not profitable for the retailer:
“Each year we cut about 10 percent [of brands carried] and refresh our assortment with about the same amount,” a Nordstrom rep told Business Insider.
“In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”
Conway is just adding to the huge amount of conflicts of interest attributed to Trump. “They are using the most prominent woman in Donald Trump’s [life],” she said. “Using her, who has been a champion for empowerment of women in the workplace, to get to him.”
“It’s a wonderful line, I own some of it,” she added. “I’m going to give it a free commercial here, go buy it today!”
