Rest In Power: Alan Colmes Dead At 66

Longtime radio host and Fox News commentator Alan Colmes is dead at the age of 66. Alan was the liberal voice on the network.

Alan’s site reported his death:

Alan Colmes passed away this morning after a brief illness.

He was 66-years-old.

He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley.

He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn.

He will be missed.

The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.

I knew Alan was ill but had no idea that it was this bad. Our site merged with Alan’s for nearly a year. During that time, I was honored to get to know one of the most decent human beings I’ve ever met. After the merge ended, we remained friends and supported each other’s work.

Here’s what you might not know about Alan. We went to lunch a few times to discuss the merge and after that we kept in contact via email. Being an awful person, I tried to get some dirt on some of his colleagues, especially Sean Hannity since the two once did a show together: Hannity and Colmes. When the statement from Alan’s site mentions that he was ‘fiercely loyal,’ it’s the truth. Alan would not trash his colleagues and believe me I tried my hardest to get info on them. I asked Alan once, “C’mon, I know you’re the only liberal there. They make you sit in the last office, amirite? Then they stick their heads out of the door and point and laugh at you when you walk down the hallway, saying, ‘Look at the libtard!'” Alan responded, “They are really good to me there.” I dug deeper in an attempt to get dirt on Ailes and Murdoch. Alan was ‘fiercely loyal.’

As for my past, Alan never judged me. Not once. Instead, he was very supportive.

Alan was still madly in love with his wife, Jocelyn Crowley. The two were married for nearly 14 years.

My last email to Alan was, “Are you feeling OK?”

Alan was a kind soul and he will be missed. Fuck you, 2017. You took one of the good ones.

Everyone at FreakOutNation would like to extend our sympathy and condolences to Alan’s wife, family, and friends.

I could have written a better tribute to Alan. He deserves that, but frankly, everyone here at FON is upset right now.

Dave-dr-gonzo, I know you must be hurting right now. You know how to reach me if you need a friendly ear. Gonzo writes for Alan’s site and they were very close friends.
