Will Rosie O'Donnell Play Steve Bannon on SNL?

After praising Melissa McCarthy on her hilarious impersonation of White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live last weekend, comedian Rosie O’Donnell responded to suggestions that she play White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on the long-running skit comedy show.

SNL already has Alec Baldwin playing a pitch-perfect Donald Trump, and McCarthy is a real gem playing Spicer. What could elevate the mockery of the Trump administration even higher? His long time foe, Rosie O’Donnell.

POLITICO reported that sources say that Spicer being spoofed by a woman bothered the new White House resident the most. Trump didn’t complain about last Saturday’s episode, unusual since the show began lampooning the reality TV star during the campaign. Some took it as a sign that it made the White House too uncomfortable to even acknowledge, and McCarthy’s gender possible the biggest problem according to a top donor:

“Trump doesn’t like his people to look weak.”

And what could possibly be worse for Trump than his controversial “chief strategist,” alt-right advocate and nationalist, Steve Bannon, to be played by a woman, and one with whom he has a long-running feud.

Twitziens suggested to O’Donnell that she step in and fill those shoes, and she says she’s more than happy to oblige. In response to a follower tweet on Monday night, O’Donnell tweeted:

“i am here to serve – alec has trump – melissa has spice – i would need a few days to prepare – so if called – i will be ready”

A lot of fans are delighted with the idea of Trump’s archenemy playing Bannon on SNL, and even movie producer John Cohen is onboard:

“I’d love to see play Bannon, play Trump and play Pence. Let’s make this happen.

“I already can’t stop laughing at Rosie O’Donnell playing Steve Bannon and it hasn’t even happened yet.

Please let it happen…please!”

Even GOP consultant Cheri Jacobus is in favor.

“Trump hated that a woman played Spicer on SNL. Would you like to see @Rosie O’Donnell play Bannon and watch Trump’s head explode?”

And the Huffington Post reminded us all that Rosie does a pretty good Trump impression, as well.
