Sean Spicer Reacts to SNL Parody: ‘They’ve Crossed Over To Mean’ (VIDEO)

Today, White House Press Secretary Sean Sphincter – er, Spicer – reacted to actress Melissa McCarthy’s impersonation of him on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

He described her over-the-top and deadly accurate portrayal thus to FOX & Friends.

\Spicer, ostensibly a religious man, apparently didn’t stay up to watch the show, perhaps preferring “The Munsters” reruns instead and was informed in texts after church yesterday morning about it. In remarkably measured tones that in no way echoed McCarthy’s dead-on imitation of his bull-in-the-china-shop approach to his podium work with the press, he shrugged it off:

Uh, I’d rather us be talking about the issues that the president is, uh, so committed to helping Americans on, but, uh, you know, it’s part of American culture.

Here’s a partial and recent list of those issues as captured by his boss’ Twitter timeline:

Conspicuously absent are issues such as the following:

  • Wombats’ rights
  • Why the sky should be green
  • Who DID frame Roger Rabbit?
  • Who DID let the dogs out?
  • Kittens: why are they so damned cute?

Spicer took a dim view of Alec Baldwin’s impression of his boss:

Alec has gone from funny to mean, and that’s unfortunate. ‘SNL’ used to be really funny. There’s a streak of meanness now that they’ve crossed over to mean.

Sean: stick to The Munsters.
