Trump Pretended To Understand Japanese While Talking To Japan’s Leader

53

Alleged president Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe Friday and the former reality show star continued down the path of thoroughly embarrassing the U.S. It was so bad that by the end of the joint press conference, you can see the Japanese leader doing a semi-eyeroll after meeting with Trump. That happened after the Prime Minister was told by Trump, “You have a strong handshake.” The entire exchange was bizarre, but the leader of Japan remained humble and courteous. The eyeroll clip just happened to have been caught on camera.

Then Trump pretended to understand Japanese:

Although he nodded along and seemed to be listening intently, Trump was not wearing a translation earpiece during Abe’s remarks. Asked if Trump had worn an earpiece, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House deputy press secretary, said: “I don’t believe during that time. But he did see the text and they spoke quite extensively before the remarks.” Trump did put a small speaker to his right ear during the question and answer session.

(my emphasis)

Trump was literally nodding along while pretending to understand Japanese. FFS, I lived in Japan for 6 months and know how difficult of a language it is to even learn the most basic words. While campaigning, the former reality TV show star said, “I know words, I have the best words” but we’re pretty sure he doesn’t know Japanese words.

Trump will be taking his second vacation in two weeks:

On Saturday, Trump will host Abe and his wife at his luxury Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida. The two leaders are scheduled to play golf on Saturday. A White House official said Trump was paying for Abe and his wife to travel to Mar-a-Lago as a “gift” – sidestepping ethical concerns that his properties might profit from a foreign visitor.

Even Sen. Marco Rubio (R-DUH!)  said that Trump’s frequent visits to Florida are a burden on the local economy.

The Orlando Weekly reports:

According to the Palm Beach Post, which Rubio linked to, Trump’s visit last weekend to his Mar-a-Lago resort cost Palm Beach airports nearly $215,000. The number includes $217,000 in lost revenue for one fixed base operator at Palm Beach International Airport and $30,000 in lost business at the nearby Lantana airport.

The head of the Lantana airport, the 10th busiest “general aviation” airport in the country, says that if Trump continues to visit, he will “kill this airport,” causing tenants to lose $1 million in just his first year in office.

Remember the deafening outcry from conservatives when former President Barack Obama took vacations and/or played golf? Trump is taking his second vacation in just two weeks and play golf while harming Florida’s economy. It’s all about him. He’s only three weeks into the job. Low stamina! No energy. The 70-year-old fake president needs a break from a job he just started. Sad!
