In the continuing saga of “Coultergeist,” deplorable Ann Coulter rises from her conservative ashes to wreak havoc on the campus of the the University of California-Berkeley, where she threatens to spew more of her hate.
But in this latest feature, the university isn’t having any of it. Or her. They fight back the hate. This week UC-Berkeley canceled Coulter’s April 27 appearance, citing campus security concerns.
Bless her racist little heart, Coulter just couldn’t take their “no.” And so the conservative snowflake escaped immediately to her safe place, the Fox cable network, seeking comfort in the arms of Republican sycophant host Tucker Carlson.
“By the way, I am giving the speech,” said Coulter, who is planning to proceed with the event as planned anyway.
Yup, the hell with campus security. Come hell or high water, mostly hell, Coulter says she’ll be there with bells on, or else.
“What are they going to do, arrest me? They can put me in the Birmingham jail,” she said, adding that her fellow deplorable Attorney General Jeff Sessions should look into the matter because canceling her speech was “unconstitutional.”
Um, no, Ann. But nice try.
It’s not as if UC-Berkeley doesn’t have grounds to ban Coulter’s lecture. The cancellation comes after the violence that broke out between pro- and anti-Trump protesters near campus on Saturday. That clash resulted in the several arrests for alleged assault with a deadly weapon, with the injured taken to the hospital, including one stabbing victim. Campus police also discovered a slew of weapons including knives, guns, and poles.
And don’t forget the violent protests that broke out back in February on the campus in response to the speaking engagement of far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos. That event, which also was canceled, forced a campus-wide lockdown.
Young America’s Foundation, the national conservative organization sponsoring and organizing Coulter’s lecture told the Washington Examiner Wednesday afternoon that Berkeley Dean of Students Joseph Greenwell emailed student organizers to say his staff was unable to find a “safe and suitable venue” for the speech.
“Given currently active security threats, it is not possible to assure that the event could be held successfully — or that the safety of Ms. Coulter, the event sponsors, audience, and bystanders could be adequately protected — at any of the campus venues,” the email read.
UC-Berkeley Vice Chancellor Scott Bidding also sent a letter to the campus group Berkeley College Republicans who invited Coulter. Associated Press got hold of the letter Wednesday, which read: “Given current active security threats, it is not possible to assure that the event could be held successfully.”
UC-Berkeley spokesman Dan Mogulof also said that posters went up on campus last week threatening disruption of the event and officials discovered “targeted threats” on various websites indicating the possibility of planned violence.
None of this matters to Ann Coulter, who has managed to turn a college campus into a potential war zone.
It’s no wonder she’s become one of the most hated persons in America.
