WATCH: Mnuchin Admits That Trump Has ‘No Intention’ Of Ever Releasing His Tax Returns

With even the majority of Republican voters saying that Donald Trump should publicly release his tax returns, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Wednesday said that that will never happen. Mnuchin, who always looks like he just threw up in his mouth, said that Trump has “no intention” of releasing them. With the former reality show star’s growing number of conflicts of interest and his administration’s alleged ties to Russia, American voters have called on him to release his tax returns just as previous presidents have done for decades.

Mnuchin was asked during a press conference if Trump will release his tax returns and he said that Trump has already released “plenty of information” about his taxes.

“The president has no intention — the president has released plenty of information and I think has given more financial disclosure than anybody else,” Mnuchin said. “I think the American population has plenty of information.”

Trump has said previously that he cannot release his tax returns because he’s under audit. “As far as my return, I want to file it. I will absolutely give my return but I’m being audited now,” Trump said in February of 2016. However, the IRS said that an audit does not prevent someone from making his or her tax returns public.

This follows Trump’s tax plan which gifts the wealthy while doing nothing for the middle and lower class. In fact, the plan would explode the national deficit. This is the same sort of failed trickle down economics we’ve all seen touted before but this time, the amateur president is not transparent about the amount of taxes he pays. Or, if he pays any taxes at all. It appears that Trump was lying and has “no intention” of ever releasing his tax returns.
