Trump Just Picked His Son’s Wedding Planner To Oversee Billions In Housing Money

Leave it to Donald Trump to hire people with zero experience to run our government.

On Wednesday, Trump announced the appointment of family loyalist Lynne Patton to lead the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Region II, which includes New York and New Jersey. As if putting Ben “poverty is a state of mind” Carson in charge of Housing and Urban Development wasn’t frightening enough, Trump’s now put a wedding planner in charge of HUD’s biggest region.

“The dress fits! Now let’s see if we can get you into a mortgage, sweetie!”

As the New York Daily News reports:

As head of the biggest HUD regional office in the U.S., Patton will oversee distribution of billions in cash to public housing authorities — including [New York’s] — as well as tens of thousands of rental vouchers and block grants that fund housing inspections and senior citizen programs.

Patton is one of the handful of African Americans within Trump’s inner circle and a passionate Trump promoter. Last year she made a video entitled ‘I’m proof Donald Trump isn’t a bigot.’

Well, that’s a relief!

At least Trump doesn’t have to ask “Where’s my African-American” anymore like he did during that campaign rally. He’s got two now in his “inner circle.” Oh wait, make that three — Let’s not forget Omarosa. And boy, is Patton “passionate.” From the same article:

Trump first placed her as a White House liaison at HUD in February. While there, she’s fired off multiple flame throwing tweets for him and his family.

In addition to his love of hiring the least experienced people, Trump also seems to love people who fake their education. According to Patton, she earned a J.D. degree from Quinnipiac University. School officials dispute that, to put it mildly. In fact, they said she attended just two semesters and never even graduated.

What Patton does have, however, is a LinkedIn profile that reads:

Responsible for organizing, executing and assisting with upscale events and celebrity golf tournaments. Handle celebrity talent acquisition for various marketing projects, philanthropic events and golf tournaments.

As NYDN reports, next to the Quinnipiac J.D. notation, Patton wrote “(N/A)” without explanation. She also listed Yale University on her profile, but HUD officials couldn’t explain why that was there at all.

Patton began working for the Trumps as an event planner in 2009. She was promoted to vice president at the Eric Trump foundation that very same year. And, yes, it’s the same foundation that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is now investigating for embezzlement and fraud. As we previously reported, the organization has been accused of funneling around $1.2 million in kids’ charity money into Trump family businesses.

May I suggest that Lynne Patton hire herself an attorney now that she’s in charge of all those billions?
