Fox News Guest On Don Jr’s Emails: The Russia Scandal Has ‘Gone Into A DEFCON 5’ (VIDEO)

The week for Team Trump started off with a bombshell report being published with detailed evidence of collusion with a hostile foreign government and the former reality show star’s campaign. And then today, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out copies of a damning email chain between himself and music publicist Rob Goldstone, who set up the meeting with the Russian lawyer. The emails which Junior received contain promises of support from “Russia and its government for Mr. Trump.” Junior seemed excited about obtaining any information on Hillary Clinton from Russia.

Junior has now changed his story about the meeting 4 times now.

Fox News guest Jim Kessler,  a co-founder of the centrist Third Way think tank, detailed how serious this scandal is for Donald Trump.

“It’s a public battle in the press that they’re doing pretty well, they don’t know how to wage a legal battle,” Kessler said, according to Raw Story. “I think we just crossed into a new zone of seriousness about these Russia allegations, and it’s gone into a DEFCON 5.”

“These are very, very disturbing emails,” Kessler continued. “This is basically dealing with Russian agents, Russian spies — this smells a lot like collusion.”

“I think there is a there, there,” Kessler said. “I’m not sure this administration lasts the entire term because of this, and it’s getting worse every day.”

Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and Paul Manafort, the former reality show star’s campaign manager, also attended the meeting with the Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer. The email chain’s subject line was titled, “Russia-Clinton-private and confidential.”

“I also think that we just saw Donald Trump Jr. sort of abandoning Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort and going in his own direction,” Kessler added. “You’ve got three very, very vulnerable senior people now not on the same page. I think this is trouble for them and deservedly so, frankly.”

To borrow a phrase from former vice-president Joe Biden, “This is a big fucking deal.”
