Joe Scarborough Is DONE, Leaves GOP: ‘I Am Not A Republican Anymore’ (VIDEO)

There are many long time, principled conservatives who are wondering what on earth has happened to the Republican Party in the age of Donald Trump. As Trump’s many scandals surrounding Russia continue to mount, the craven, cowardly, opportunistic Republicans on Capitol Hill continue to give him cover. They dodge questions, and they refuse to do their jobs and protect the nation from this man who clearly should have never been president. Even the thought of the man in the Oval Office being a literal Russian agent isn’t enough to make them pull the trigger and impeach him. Well, there is one longtime Republican who has had enough. Appearing on CBS’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Joe Scarborough, former GOP Congressman and host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe announced that he is leaving the GOP.

Scarborough said to Colbert while referencing his party:

“Time and time and time again they turn the other way. And they are doing the same thing now. It’s actually disgusting and you have to ask yourself, what exactly is the Republican Party willing to do? How far are they willing to go? How much of this country and our values are they willing to sell out? I am not a Republican anymore. I’ve got to become an independent.”

Way to go, Joe! I might not agree with your politics, but you’ve shown real bravery. This is what it means to put country before party. Now, if only the people in real positions of power would follow your lead. It’s time for principled Republicans to realize that Donald Trump has stolen their party, and it just may be too late to take it back. All we can do now is try and save our nation from him.

Thank you for being a high profile voice of reason. Now, if only Mika can make you become a Democrat! Just kidding, Independent is awesome. Thanks again.
